Leahs Pov

We went back to the living room.

"What about we do a cosy evening like we always used to do? We order some Chinese food and watch a movie." I suggest.

"Sounds good." Emilia nods. What happened in the bedroom was a bit weird. We somehow just looked at each other and in this moment I wished I could just kiss her. I wish I could kiss her now. I want to hold her and cuddle her in my arms. I want to kiss her head and whisper I love you in her hair. She looked at me and for a moment I had hope but I know she will never love me back.

I get the phone to order our food in. It's hard for me to look at her. She looks horrible but beautiful at the same time.

"Your usual?" I ask about the food.

"Mhm." She nods. I smile at how I can read what she wants. I know her so well and yet I wish I would know her more. I order us the food and sit beside her on the couch while we wait.

"Do you need anything for your face?" I ask.

"No it's fine." She brushes it off.

"I need clothes. I need everything." Emilia suddenly says.

"You can borrow my clothes."

"But not forever. I left everything in the house. I left my stuff, the keys and my phone and I'm glad that I did. I don't want to go back." She says and now I get it. She basically left her old life there.

"We'll get new stuff for you." I say.

"Okay." Emilia just nods and looks down.

"I should call Chloe." I suddenly realise that she deserves to know.

"Chloe? Why? Did you talk to her?" Emilia seems surprised.

"I was worried about you and thought that maybe she knew. She is also worried about you so I think she deserves to know that you are here. Can I call her and tell her?" I say. I want to make sure that she is fine with it. She gives me a nod. I'm glad she agreed on that.

"I didn't think she would still care about me after I basically ghosted her." Emilia says.

"I also still care about you after you ghosted me. Friends don't give up on each other that easily." I say. Friends. I think that is an understatement of what I'm feeling.

I ring Chloe and really hope the food won't arrive in that time. I know that Emilia doesn't want to open the door in the state she is in. I hear the phone beeping until Chloe picks up.

"Leah."

"Chloe."

"What's up?" She asks.

"She is here." I say. I don't know how else to say it.

"What?"

"Emilia is here. She came here this morning. She is okay, well she isn't. This man is a monster but I will make sure she will be okay." I quickly ramble the words.

"So it was him?" She says.

"Yeah, it was him." I sigh.

"Should I come around?" She immediately offers. I like how thoughtful and caring she is. We also became good friends in the last weeks where we were worried together.

"Maybe not today." I say and look at Emilia. I don't think she needs more people here. "Can Chloe come around sometime?" I ask her.

"Can she come next week? I don't feel like seeing anyone at the moment." Emilia says what I already thought. I give her a nod.
