Ever since Lando broke up with me, I spend most of my time in the gym. I didn't do it to make Lando regret his decision, not at all. It was a way to get my frustration out of me but I couldn't deny that it would be nice to show him what he's been missing.
And he's been missing a lot.
During the first week of summer break I spend my days tanning, working out and eating healthy. I also let my hair grow and dyed it just a little bit darker.
Just a few shades, just like my heart turned darker as well.

"Damn girl, I almost didn't recognize you" Josh said as he looked at me. "Okay, don't exaggerate" I chuckled.
"No I am serious, you're looking absolutely stunning" he winked at me.
Josh was always the one who could make me feel good about myself again. I loved him for that.
"I know you're not working here anymore but could you maybe help out a little? We're understaffed and I need someone at the register" he said with a little smile on his face.
I rolled my eyes laughing. "Oh that's why you're complimenting me" I said as I walked to the register.
I was already expecting this, the store was always understaffed and Josh was working overtime to keep the place running.
It was actually nice to go back to this job for a little while.
That was, until Lando showed up with Lara. I wasn't gonna show me how much it actually annoyed me to see them together.
How much it actually broke me.
"Aimée, I didn't know you worked here again" Lando said as he looked at me. His eyes scanned my body just like the first time he saw me.
"Oh you know, I am just helping Josh" I said and rang his groceries as quickly as I could. "That would be 47,93 please"
He grabbed his card and scanned it to pay for it. Lara didn't even look at me, she just grabbed the groceries and walked outside.
"You're looking beautiful by the way" he said as he put his card away. "Thanks, but you shouldn't be telling me that"
"Why not? It's the truth"
He couldn't be this stupid right?
"Because I am trying to get over you and it's actually working. Please don't pull me back inside your web" I said. His smile quickly disappeared.
He licked the corners of his lips. A thing he did when he was nervous or uncomfortable. I was feeling both of these things as well.
"Maybe I don't want you to get over me" he whispered.
I sighed. "Lando, that's so unfair" he was trying to pull me back in even though he was fucking dating someone else.
"What are you up to this break?" He tried to change the subject, probably because he noticed how annoyed I was getting.
"Probably just a little vacation, I'm not quite sure yet. You?" I asked. "Also a little vacation"
I took a minute to look at him. He's not looking very happy, he's actually looking worse. He had dark circles under his eyes and it looked as if he didn't get a good night of sleep for ages.
"You okay though?" I asked quickly because I saw another customer coming up. "I am okay" he mumbled.
"I will see you around. Take care Aimée" he said as he tapped the counter a couple of times and smiled. "You too Lando. Enjoy your holiday"
His smile got a little wider and he walked out. I let out a big sigh.
It would be easier to move on if he was actually looking happy, but he didn't. It made me feel bad, it made me not wanna move on but he wasn't gonna come back.
