I didn't want to go to the next Grand Prix. I just wanted to hide in his apartment and cuddle in his arms.
I never wanted to leave my safe place but I had to.

We had to.

"It's gonna be fine" Lando said as he grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers.
It was probably gonna be even worse for him, but he didn't show his nerves, I even doubt if he had any.

I nodded with a sigh. "It's gonna be fine" I reassured myself.
It was gonna be absolutely fine and if it wasn't gonna be fine, then I would still have Lando.

"I love you" he placed a little kiss on my cheek. "I love you too" I squeezed his hand and we both walked in the paddock.

There were a lot of eyes on us, I expected that. Not everyone was gonna be happy for us. Not everyone would praise me for speaking up.
Not everyone would appreciate Lando running away on his own wedding.

We didn't stop for anyone, it was the first time Lando didn't stop to take pictures with his fans but I guess he just couldn't.

I just knew he felt bad too.

"Text me if you need me okay?" He said as he brushed my hair out of my face.
I nodded.

"I will see you in the conference room" he said as he turned around and waved a little. "Max has media pen duties though" I yelled after him.

He turned his face back to mine making a little pout.

For once I wished they both had to be in the same press conference but no, I had to face Lara in the media pen without Lando protecting me.

"You're gonna protect me if Lara tries to kill me, right?" I looked up at Max as we were walking to the media pen.

"I will" he said as he took a sip from his Red Bull. I still had no idea how he could drink that all the time. I was convinced he filled his cans with water so I tasted his Red Bull when he wasn't looking and I can assure you, he isn't drinking water.

Maybe that's the key to win a lot of races. I was gonna buy Lando a lot of Red Bulls.

"But you don't need protection. You're a badass especially since your little speech at the wedding" It was the first time someone actually said something about that.

I was surprised it was Max who was the first one to talk about it.

"What made you stand up again?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "A flashback, a million memories but most importantly I felt as if I had to safe him"

He nodded proudly. "Like I said, you don't need anyone protecting you, but don't worry, I got you" he reassured me as we walked in the media pen.

Lara's eyes immediately met mine, her eyes were filled with anger.
I could feel her eyes the entire time. Max noticed it too because he gave shorter answers than usual.

He wanted to get out of here as fast as we could and I couldn't agree more.

"Aimée" she tilted her head as she looked at me. She was the last interview Max had to do and the worst one obviously.

I smiled a little, a fake one. "Lara"

"How are you doing Aimée? How's Lando? Did you have fun stealing my boyfriend?" She spat out. She looked so pleased with herself.

"Good, he's good too and yes it was pretty fun actually" I answered while looking straight in her eyes. She clearly didn't expect it and I wish I could've filmed her face.

Priceless.

"And we answered three questions so that's all we have to do" Max said with a smile on his face. "See you tomorrow" he walked away and I followed him, trying to hold my laughter.

It worked for a couple of seconds but as soon as we were far enough, we both started laughing.
"I told you so, you're a badass" Max said as he nudged me.

We kept laughing until we reached the hospitalities again. Lando was sitting outside his one with his trainer and Oscar.

Our eyes met for a quick second. He winked at me which I answered by sticking my tongue out.
