I organized a birthday dinner for Lando with his closest friends and some of the drivers.

I wanted to invite Charles as well, but I explained to him that it would be better if he didn't come because I really wanted Kara to come.

I sat down next to Lando, but he was soon distracted by his friends.
Kara walked in with Josh, I looked at her, she still looked amazing but I could see how tired she was, how heartbroken.

"Hi Lando, happy birthday" she tried to be as chipper as possible. They hugged before she took her seat next to me.

I didn't want to question her immediately, she would probably run away if I did that, so I decided to be as casual as possible.

I waited until we finished our dinner, everyone was still talking, so it was the perfect time for me to take Kara outside.

"You have a minute?" I leaned closer to her. She nodded, she probably knew what was coming.

We walked outside and sat down on a bench, she looked at the stars as if she never saw them before. "I wish I had something like Lando and you have" she whispered.

"What happened Kara?" I asked softly, matching her voice.

"He cheated" she sighed. "Which I probably should've expected because that's the whole reason why we started our agreement, to make his ex jealous"

She chuckled a little, a sarcastic one.

"I thought he was the one, Aimée. I even wanted to stay in Monaco for him" she shook her head.

"Did you talk to him about this?"

She shook her head again. "I can't Aimée, I really can't"

I knew what she meant. When you're heartbroken and trying to move on, the last thing you want is to break your heart even more.

But for some reason, I had a feeling Charles didn't cheat on her.

'What did you do?'
'I did nothing'

His conversation with Lando kept replaying in my mind. He said he didn't do anything wrong and for some reason I believed him.
He was so in love with Kara, I just couldn't see him doing something like that to jeopardize their relationship.

I had to make sure they would talk to each other. She would do the same for me.

"You seem distracted" Lando said as he made circles with his fingers on my stomach.

We were naked laying next to each other after having some amazing sex.

I didn't answer because he was right, I was distracted.

"You're lucky I know you because otherwise I would think you're thinking about another man" he jokingly said.

I laughed. "I am thinking about another man actually" his face immediately dropped. "What?"

I turned to him, letting my head rest on my hand. "I am thinking about Charles and Kara" I explained. He put his hand on his chest. "You scared me for a moment"

"Do you think he cheated?"

He immediately shook his head. "He didn't cheat, he pushed her away when she tried to kiss him"

I frowned. "How do you know that?"

"Oh baby, I know a lot of things" he smirked and pulled me on top of him. "I also know how desperately you need a kiss right now"

I tilted my head a little. "Oh really?"

He nodded with a smile on his face and put his hand on my cheek. "I also know how incredibly in love I am with you"

The butterflies in my stomach were there again, I don't think they will ever leave.
They will forever be there for Lando.

Nothing could break us apart, we've been through so much, I was sure we could handle everything.

"I am so glad you decided to steal sausages that day" I laughed. "I didn't steal them" he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me under him.

"But I am glad you ran after me" he said as he looked down at me. I could see how much he loves me.

"I will always run after you. Always"
