My head was pounding. It felt like someone was using a jackhammer on the back of my skull. I wanted to fall asleep and my eyes kept rolling back every so often but Phanton kept shaking me back awake.
"You can't fall asleep after hitting your head like that." He said to me clearly annoyed.
He was a large man, large enough to barely leave an inch between the top of his head and the doorframe. He still wore the same sunglasses as before even though it was dark outside. He set me down on the loveseat and went towards the fridge in my room. I knew it was empty and didn't speak up. He opened it and turned around to look at me.
"Your fridge is empty." He said with concern in his voice.
"Sir, I haven't even been here for six hours." I groaned as the pain in the back of my head was radiating down my neck.
I saw him pull out a cellphone and rip off one of his gloves to start typing away on it. Awkward silence hung in the air. I normally liked silence but that was when I was alone. I couldn't help but break it.
"So.. how come Merlin calls you Gray and everyone else calls you Phantom?" I questioned trying to take the focus off the pain.
"Merlin is my brother. My name is Grayson but if you know what's good for you, you won't call me that." He said coldly not even glancing up at me.
"Apologies, sir." I sighed.
"Nothing to apologize for, just a warning. I've shared mine, why don't you tell me yours." He said as his head shifted from his phone to me. I wanted to see what was behind those sunglasses.
"Ana...Anastasia." I muttered as I sat up to try and stand on my own.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Phantom warned.
"I just want to move to my bed." I said with a slight crack in my voice. "My head is on fire I just want to lay on something comfier."
He stood up instantly to help me. It was only a seven foot distance between me and the bed.
"You don't have to baby me Phantom, I'm a soldier just like you." I was annoyed. I did not need to be coddled.
"A soldier who's head was bashed against a metal railing. I'm surprised you're not bleeding. Anyway, it's partially my fault. You had him and I distracted you." He admitted.
I raised an eyebrow. His fault? That was the last thing I expected a superior to say to me. I got to the bed grunting as I laid on my side, burying half of my face into the pillow. There was only a few moments of silence before two slow knocks echoed against the door. Phantom got up and opened the door revealing the burly and friendly Russian from dinner.
"Hey sweets, I heard you take pretty hard blow." He said to me looking past Phantom's head to see me. He had a case of water and a few other items I couldn't quite make out as my vision was still not a hundred percent.
"Phantom you make better door than window." He chuckled, his English was decent but wasn't quite all there. It even made me chuckle as Phantom stepped aside allowing him to come into my room. He set the case of water on the small counter and turned to look at me.
"I never get to introduce myself to you. I am Volkov or.. um.. Wolf, that is what mister Phantom call me." He said with a great big smile.
"Spasibo Wolf.." My voice was hoarse and my throat was dry. Speaking Russian to Wolf made his eyes light up as he turned to leave.
"Feel better, malen'kiy." Wolf smirked as he left. I rolled my eyes smiling softly under my balaclava. He called me "little one" no doubt because of my size but the word was equivalent to a baby animal.
