Kayo stood there shocked as he reached for his radio.
"Phantom how do you copy." He said as the different channels radio frequencies caused a crackle in my ear.
"Copy just fine. All hostiles are eliminated." Phantom's voice meshed with the radio static.
"We have a situation in the south building." Kayo replied.
"On our way!" Phantom yelled into the radio.
I kept my weapon aimed at my brother, keeping a firm stance.
"Ana please put the gun down." Lukas pleaded.
"Shut the fuck up!" I screamed. "Get down on your fucking knees!" I was angry. My brother was presumed dead. He was the troublemaker in the family. He was always getting arrested for drugs and gang affiliated activities but this? This was a new level for him.
He obeyed my orders as I moved behind him with my gun aimed at his head. I lowered my weapon as I took out zip ties from the pouch on my pants and tied his hands behind his back making sure they were extra tight around his wrists.
"You're not my fucking brother." I whispered in his ear. He started to weep like a child, practically wailing.
Phantom and Merlin burst into the lower level of the building working their way up to the second floor where we were. Guns drawn and pointed at our new prisoner they looked confused.
"What is this?" Phantom questioned. "I said shoot to kill." He seemed irritated.
"Phantom.. this is.. her brother." Kayo chimed in.
"Kayo, zip her." Phantom said seemingly disappointed.
"Whoa what! I'm not apart of this!" I yelled.
"Lieutenant, I don't think-" Kayo tried to explain but what cut off.
"THAT'S A FUCKING ORDER!" Phantom screamed.
Kayo hesitated for a moment before taking one of the zip ties from my hand and tying my hands together just as he did the night before but he was gentle this time. He unclasped my weapon sling disarming me and handed my gun off to Merlin.
"Let Hyde know we're going to have an extra passenger." Merlin said to Phantom.
I knew it was best to keep my mouth shut at this point. There was no talking sense into anyone other than Kayo. Merlin yanked Lukas up by the arm and started leading him out of the building while Kayo urged me to walk in front of him. I kept my composure as we sifted through the snow yet again making our way to the helicopter that was waiting for us. I could hear the blades cutting the air in the distance as Phantom for behind me pushing me to the ground putting my face in the snow. I groaned as he roughly grabbed me and tossed me into the aircraft. Shortly after it set flight back to our base.
"Ana, I'm so sorry." Lukas mouthed to me.
I didn't say a word. Anything I said at this point would make the situation worse for myself. I didn't care about him, for all I knew my brother was still dead to me.
The helicopter ride felt like an eternity and when we landed my stomach was in my throat. I knew I did no wrong but I had to prove my innocence to everyone else. We were escorted off the aircraft and led into the building below ground level. My heart was pounding in my chest as Phantom shoved me into the same interrogation room from last night and wrapped my bound arms around the sides of the chair. The blood on my face was dry and started to crack. He flipped the chair around so the back of it was against his chest.
"Should you start or shall I?" His voice was cold. I could see Kayo's silhouette outside of the room through the frosted glass listening intently.
"I have nothing to do with him, sir." I was honest, I had no reason to lie.
"Firstly you disobey orders. I said shoot to kill. You didn't shoot did you? You must care deeply for your war criminal brother." Phantom snapped at me.
"He's fucking dead to me!" I raised my voice. Phantom shot up out of the chair pulling a blade from his belt. He walked around the table placing himself behind me and ripped my balaclava off my head. He dragged the cold steel against my face before placing the tip of his knife under my chin.
"Well he's not dead now is he?" He questioned.
"I didn't know he was alive! He was presumed dead when I was still a teenager!" I screamed. I tried keeping my composure but I knew Phantom was capable of anything. He slammed his fist on the table making me jump in my seat.
"Why didn't you kill him then, eh?" He asked dragging the tip of the blade gently along my throat down to my collar bones.
"Give me a gun! I'll go kill him right fucking now!" I screamed at the top of my lungs hoping anyone outside of the room could hear me. Phantom quickly withdrew his blade slicing my leg in the process. I screamed jerking around in the chair.
"Fuck! I didn't know anything about him Phantom I swear!" Tears streamed down my face while blood started seeping into my pants.
"If I find out you are lying, that cut will be the least of your worries." He warned walking out of the room slamming the door.
