I woke up to a pitch black room drenched in sweat. The weight of the six-ten man's arm that constricted me was gone. My leg was throbbing in pain, worse than before. I felt disoriented as I sat up on the edge of the bed before scooting off of it slowly landing on my uninjured leg. As I went to put pressure on my wounded leg a gasp escaped my lips.
"Kurva! Zkurvysyn, který bolí!" I cried out in my native tongue. I almost fell against Kayo's dresser as my hand landed on a piece of paper that was set on top. I felt around for his lamp pushing it's pin to the other side as the dim light flicked on. I assumed it was Kayo's handwriting and it was awful.Leibling.. I had to attend a mission. Will be back by tomorrow. -Kayo x
My heart felt heavy. Why did my heart feel heavy? A man I've known for such a little amount of time was making me feel things I hadn't dreamed of or even thought about. It was one thing to get your rocks off with someone you barely know and never call them again but this was different. I had feelings for him I admit. I set the note down sitting back on the edge of the bed when a familiar friendly voice shouted my name outside of the door.
"Ohhhh Anaaaaaa!" It was Wolf.
"Come in Wolf." I said barely loud enough for my voice to reach the door.
The door opened and he stood in the doorway baring a wide smile while carrying a food tray.
"You missed breakfast and almost missed lunch!" He laughed.
"I'm sorry I've been really out of it." I groaned feeling the side of my face was incredibly sore.
"Ana, your face.. what happened to you? Did the mission not go according to plan?" He questioned as he came closer to me.
"Hyde.. Hyde did it. On the mission everything was going smoothly until.." I swallowed hard.
"Go on sweets." He pressured.
"Kayo and I were clearing a building and an unarmed man busted through the doors pleading for his life. It was my brother. I thought he was dead. That's what I was told by police when I was younger." I sat up elevating my throbbing leg on the bed. Wolf noticed the stitch covered gash on my leg as I pushed my shirt down so I didn't expose myself to Wolf.
"That doesn't explain bruise on your face or that huge cut on your leg Ana." He said in a low tone.
"Phantom thought I was working with my brother.. he zipped me and brought me back here. He tried to torture information out of me and when I didn't give him the answers he wanted after he sliced my leg.. he sent Hyde in and he beat me. He went as far as trying to rip all of my clothes off." I started choking up, being reminded I've been sexually assaulted more than once now. Wolf set the tray of food on the bed and flicked the light switch on the wall.
"Ana your leg doesn't look good. It looks infected." He said.
"It hurts." I said. It didn't just hurt. It was throbbing. Each heartbeat I felt in my leg.
"Were you taken to med bay?" He asked.
All I could do was shake my head. Wolf sighed and pulled his phone out of his vest making a call. It was a short call and Wolf looked upset.
"We're taking you to med bay. Jonesy will be here with wheelchair." He said putting the phone back in his vest.
"I haven't met Jonesy." I said trying to make small talk.
"He is our only medical..person." Wolf replied trying to find the right words to say that would make sense.
"I don't know why Kayo bring you here and not med bay." He sighed.
"He said I would be safe here.." I said softly. Wolf nodded as a slim man dressed in dark green scrubs pushing an empty wheelchair entered the doorway. I went to stand up but was quickly accompanied by Wolf and Jonesy as they both escorted me to the wheelchair.
"This is so humiliating." I grumbled sitting down accepting my fate. Jonesy pushed me along with Wolf following closely behind him. Sick bay wasn't far from where Kayo's dorm but it would have been a long walk in my current state.
Jonesy made me change into a patient gown and discarded Kayo's shirt to the side. He helped me into the medical bed before disappearing behind a divider. Sick bay wasn't large and could at most hold up to six people at a time.
"I almost forgot!" Wolf exclaimed breaking the silence. He handed me a red in color phone with the famous grin on his face.
"Kayo left this for you." He was giddy.
"Thank you, Wolf." I tried to smile but the pain was becoming unbearable in my leg. Jonesy came back with sterilized equipment and an IV drip. He shooed away Wolf and begun working on my leg prying off the adhesive stitches from my thigh. I wanted to scream in pain but bit down on my own hand to keep myself quiet. He cleansed my wound, removing all of the pus and grime that built up in my sleep. Jonesy assured me the infection was just superficial but I would need to take antibiotics and need monitoring. He stitched up my leg, sewing into my skin and shortly after slathering it in antibacterial cream. I watched him dress the wound taping up gauze around it.
"I'm going to put you on a morphine drip for the pain." He piped up after saying nothing at all for a while. I nodded as he stuck the needle in me before securing it in place with medical grade tape. It wasn't long before I felt it's effects and started to cloud my mind. My new phone dinged, it was Kayo who's contact was already set.
See you soon, leibling.
