"Malfoy." I whispered. He stared at me for a second, but didn't really look at me. Since he is much taller than I am, he was easily able to look over the top of my head. It seemed he was looking straight ahead at Blaise who didn't move anymore. I heard his heart race in his chest as he kept caressing my back instinctively. Suddenly he let me go as if his conscious told him that he was holding his mortal enemy. Still he didn't say a single word.
"I-Is he dead?" I asked feeling awkward. I didn't know if I had to be angry with him or if I should be thankful. He just stared at me with a weird expression on his face that I couldn't place.
"Stunned." He said with a voice that didn't sound like his own.
"Why.. Why are you here?" I asked him.
"Because-" He started. But it seemed he didn't want to talk about it. He suddenly started to walk back to the castle without explaining himself.
"Because of what?!" I yelled when I caught up with him.
"I can't let him do that." He said after a pause. "And you better be thankful." He added snarky.
"I didn't say I wasn't thankful!" I said feeling all kinds of confusion.
"You didn't say you were either." He said eyeing me sceptically as he turned around and walked away.
I didn't follow him, I just stood there. Halfway on the steps to the main front door of Hogwarts. This was about the weirdest thing that ever happened to me. Malfoy would never save me from danger, he was always the one putting me in danger. He wouldn't even help when somebody else hexed me!
What is going on!
After a few seconds I decided to head back inside too. It was almost seven which meant I had to go to detention. Together with my saviour, how ironic. I hurried to the trophy room were Snape was waiting for me at the door. He wasn't looking very pleased with me.
"Finally." He said as he pressed his lips together. "Mr. Malfoy is already here. Wand." He was extending his hand towards me and I sighed. I gave him my wand and entered the room. Indeed I saw Malfoy standing at the window staring outside.
"You two need to polish every single trophy in this room by hand. I will get back to you two at nine. The trophies you don't polish, you can do tomorrow." Said Snape.
Great. Let's dust other people's awards...
Professor Snape threw me two rags, polish and cleaning supplies. I threw a rag at Malfoy without saying anything. The rag landed on top of his head which was a bit funny as he quickly got it off. He got it didn't he?
Snape left and magically locked the door. I silently started to dust some trophies. Just like Malfoy did. We didn't say a word until Malfoy placed his hand on my shoulder. I jumped at his touch and turned around with a questioning look on my face.
"What are you doing?" I said. My back almost crashed against the cabinets with the trophies inside.
But Malfoy didn't answer, he just kept staring at me. Did Nicky already tell everyone what happened at potions?
"Stop that!" I said annoyed as I got out of his grasp. I tried to turn around to continue polishing the trophies and ignore he was there. Malfoy was too close again and I didn't want to touch him! Saviour or not.
But Malfoy -who was still standing behind me- turned me back around just as easily and continued staring at me again.
"What are you doing!" I hissed again as I almost dropped the trophy I was polishing.
