When Draco left the bedroom, I was too curious for my own good. As I dressed I put a cloaking spell on myself, and crept halfway down the stairs. Through the doorframe of the dining room I could see a massive black marble table, but I couldn't see anyone. I heard what they were talking about though, it seemed Lucius offered his own son to the Dark Lord.

"Your arm." I heard Voldemort say. Was he going to do it? Draco? Was he going to become a Death Eater?

I slowly crept down the stairs and walked closer to the dining room. I really hoped he wouldn't do this, our parents being Death Eaters was already a strain on our families. If Draco was going to become a Death Eater too it meant he would have to kill in the name of the Dark Lord, that he had to obey the Dark Lord's every whim.

We were of course raised with the Dark Lord's ideology, that some families were better than others. Some blood was purer and deserved better lives than others, muggles were trash and mudbloods the worst. It was what was drilled in to our young minds that we were on the good side, and that it was a matter of time before the war against the undeserving would break out.

But I saw Draco sitting at the table, his face stricken with fear and disbelief and I suddenly wasn't so sure we were on the good side. It felt more like a purge that was about to commence.

"Draco!" hissed his father at him and Draco looked at his father with mixed feelings. "Do it!" he added as he grabbed Draco's wrist.

"You dare refuse me?" said Voldemort angrily. "Maybe you'll need to be taught a lesson?" the other Death Eaters around the table agreed and started to laugh menacingly.

Voldemort drew his wand and put the tip against Draco's neck. He was grinning evilly and I felt like the ground tried to swallow me whole.

"Cru-" he started and Draco squeezed his eyes shut.

"No!" I yelled without even registering that I did so.

Oh god why did I do that.

"Who is there!" Yelled Voldemort as he pointed his wand at me. "Revellio!"

Suddenly the cloaking spell vanished and everyone saw me standing in the dining room. One other Death Eater gasped and I backed away slowly, about to make a run for it. Draco's eyes widened at me and he shook his head, unconsciously telling me that I wasn't allowed to move.

"What is this?" growled Voldemort, his wand still raised at me. I felt like looking at my shoes I was afraid to look at him.

"My lord I am sorry-" began Lucius as he started grovelling next to Draco.

"Quiet!" boomed Voldemort. He strode towards me his wand aimed at me. "Who are you?" His snake-like eyes were narrowed in to slits, making him look more reptile than human. His enormous snake was slithering towards me on the floor.
No not that snake. Really..

"Elenore Avery my Lord." I said quietly as I stared at my feet. Voldemort stared puzzled at me, then at Lucius and then at the other masked Death Eater.

"Can you tell me what your daughter is doing here, Avery?" boomed Voldemort at the masked Death Eater. He removed his visage and stared at me, a mixture of worry and anger on his face.

"My Lord, she is not supposed to." Said my father irritated, apparently anger won. "She has rebelled against me." He stood up and angrily looked at Lucius. "You were hiding her?!" he yelled, completely ignoring my predicament. Thanks dad.

"She is not to be trusted." Said Lucius as he squinted his eyes first at my father, then at me. "She has connections to blood-traitors my Lord." My father didn't think it was important to defend me, he simply nodded as he glared at me.
