Snape was staring at me. He had an empty expression on his face and didn't seem to be thrown off by my revelation, but his black eyes were sparkling nonetheless. There was something going on behind his careful closed expression.

"Are you seeing madam Pomfrey?" he asked after a while.

"I am." I said with a huff as I slowly sat down back in the chair. "Can you untie me now?"

Snape sighed and with a flick of his wand the magical ropes disappeared from around my wrists. I trailed my fingers along my wrist, trying to soothe the burning feeling of the rope that was there before. I must've breathed wrong, or swallowed incorrectly because I burst out in to a coughing fit, which was so delightfully supported with thick blackish blood clots. Snape widened his eyes and stepped back as I coughed up more of the dark blood on to his polished floor.

He immediately went to his desk and grabbed a vial with a red substance that I recognised as a healing potion. He thrust it into my hand and I quickly swallowed it. I felt the burning pain in my chest ease away, and I was able to breathe normally again.

"What.. was that?" he asked as I calmed down. He scourgified his floor and crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing me expectantly.

"Side effect of my pregnancy." I said waving it away as if it was nothing.

"That's not a mere side effect." He snapped as he walked closer to me and put his face mere inches away from my own. "What is wrong."

It wasn't a question, it wasn't a statement either it sounded more like a threat and I swallowed nervously.

"M-Madam Pomfrey said my child is tainted with dark magic." I muttered as I tried to look away from his eyes. "She doesn't know how to treat it."

Snape paled and furrowed his brow. He seemed to contemplate what to ask next and I saw various emotions flicker in his eyes.

"How?" was all he asked as he stepped back again, leaning with his legs against his desk.

"Apparently my womb didn't protect the child when.. when the Dark Lord imperioused me." I said with a sigh.

"Curious." He said as he narrowed his eyes. "I've never heard about a tainted child before."

"Madam Pomfrey said it would most likely have a cursed life, if it or myself survive it all. Just like your buddy, the Dark Lord."

Snape didn't say anything after I made that remark, and I glared at a pile of books in the corner, not wanting to meet his eye.

"So what are you going to do to me?" I asked as I tried to find my courage. "Experiment on me? Kill me? Hand me over to the Dark Lord?"

"Don't be ridiculous." Snapped Snape. "The Dark Lord has other priorities. Besides, as if I would hand a student over to Him, what a ridiculous notion."

"You wouldn't? Aren't you his general or something?!" I retorted angrily.

Snape seemed annoyed and walked behind his desk to carelessly sit down in his chair. "I am not." He said his voice turning icily again. "That's madam Lestrange."

"Figures." I muttered as I rolled my eyes.

"You are going to follow classes for the time being." He said. "And so is Mr Malfoy. There must be a sense of normalcy in this chaotic time."

"You sound like Dumbledore." I mumbled.

"Thank you." Is what he said as he eyed me dangerously. I didn't know if he was generally grateful that I thanked him for telling him he sounded like the old wizard, or that it was sarcasm.
