"What are you saying mum?" I asked her.
"I'm saying you should get married as soon as possible." She said.
"To.. Draco?" I asked her almost afraid of what her answer would be.
"Yes, to Draco." said my mother annoyed. "I thought we already established that there's no way out. Not since you're with child."
"I'm sure my father will be overjoyed." said Draco sarcastically.
"He doesn't know." Said my father. "And he doesn't need to know. This is for the safety of my daughter and your child."
I wondered why my father was acting this way, was he really concerned for my well-being now Was he trying to be a normal father for once? Was there perhaps a motive? He did look like hell swallowed him and spat him out again. Perhaps he found out that he put his trust in the wrong man? Perhaps he also wanted out? But I couldn't imagine my father the ruthless Death Eater to switch sides so easily.
There must be more going on that I don't know of.
"What's the plan?" asked Draco. My mother smiled mischievously and I swallowed nervously. What did she have in mind now?
~•~
This plan was insane.
That's all I could think when we used floo powder to arrive at the ministry. I was polyjuiced in to a woman that I didn't even know, my mother's work. Draco was polyjuiced in to some man that I had never seen before either. He carried a briefcase that contained our marriage certificate with our names on it. My father somehow forged it, but it wasn't legal if it wasn't signed by a ministry official. We had already pre-signed it, so we only needed to get it signed officially.
We silently walked through the hall, it was swarming with ministry personnel because the Death Eaters took over the ministry days ago. This was the perfect time to slip inside unnoticed, because nobody would pay attention to us.
We went inside the elevator together with a swarm of memo's. After a while we heard the elevator announce: "ministry of marital affairs" we stepped outside and announced ourselves to a rather scrawny secretary as Gerard Finnigan and Irina Stone. The secretary looked inside his book for our appointment and wrote a memo. The memo flew through a gap above the door at the end of the hall, within seconds a different coloured memo flew back to the secretary. He nodded solemnly at the memo as if it had dire news.
"You are expected." He said with a dry voice that absolutely fit with his personality.
Draco briefly nodded at him and took me by the arm. We walked inside the office at the end of the hall and closed the door behind us. Inside sat a sallow-faced man behind his desk. It looked like the poor man didn't wanted to be there in the first place. I could imagine with all the Death Eaters running amok that it was difficult to do your job properly.
Draco opened his briefcase and pulled the parchment contract out of its brown file. He put it in front of the man so he could read it.
"What are you-" started the man.
"Imperio." Said Draco as he aimed his wand at the poor sod. "You will sign this contract and make it legally binding."
The man nodded friendly at Draco and did as he was told to do as if he was an obedient slave. Draco slipped it back in to his briefcase after the contract was signed. We had to get it filed now at the secretary, and then it was done.
"Obliviate." I said aiming my wand at him. "That will keep him from remembering this, or anything at all." I said to Draco. I felt a little guilty doing this, but I knew it was needed in case he did remember something.
