The next day turned out to be a living hell. Apparently someone had been spreading around that Malfoy is my boyfriend. He is not my boyfriend! We just have to.. to get.. Ah I can't even get it out of my mouth!
I would love to stay in bed all day and hide myself from all the looks that I received every second. But hiding wouldn't solve my problems... I really wanted to know who spread the rumour and punish them with the most horrible hex I could think of. Though I first suspected Marie, she swore she didn't say it to anyone, which I naturally didn't believe. She told Nicky about the veritaserum-action, so I wondered how I could be so stupid to trust her with this too.
Marie and I ended up having a huge fight about this. I didn't tell anyone apart from her and I couldn't imagine Malfoy spreading the rumour. Marie yelled at me that I was a lousy friend for not trusting her and eventually I apologised. When we were calmed down some time later, she told me that it was Daphne Greengrass who spread the rumour, one of Pansy's friends. She heard about it in the girl's lavatory on the second floor. I honestly wasn't surprised but I felt honestly guilty for suspecting Marie.
Marie heard that Pansy was trying her best to hide her tears when she entered the common room last evening. It seemed Daphne asked her what was wrong with her, and she told her about the way Malfoy treated her. Daphne was apparently so angry; that she was going to hex him for Pansy's sake.
She went towards the passageway with her mind set, but heard Malfoy and me talking. She decided to eavesdrop around the corner, but couldn't make out the words. When it got awfully quiet she peeked at us and that was clearly at the wrong moment. Because it turned out to be the exact moment that Malfoy was snogging me.
Daphne was apparently shocked to see that Malfoy was kissing me. Me! The only Slytherin girl that didn't treat him like a prince. She felt bad for Pansy but for her this was the juiciest story that she couldn't keep quiet about.
The rumour even spread all the way to the Gryfindor common room that same day. That's how fast it spread. My life was officially over, thank god it was a Sunday, so I spent the entire day in my dorm feeling sorry for myself and hating Malfoy.

The next morning I walked to herbology class with Marie. It was a sunny morning and we enjoyed the dewy grass beneath our feet as we were on our way to the greenhouse. We were talking about nothing in particular, until it felt like something pulled me backwards violently, which made me stumble. When I found my balance I curiously inspected my bag and saw that it was ripped open and all my stuff was lying in the grass. Great.
"Great." I muttered frustrated. "As if I didn't had enough on my plate yet."
Marie turned towards me with an awkward expression written on her face.
"That bag was brand new." She said with a frown. "This is weird; you bought it last week in Hogsmeade."
"Yes. Weird." I said still mumbling under my breath as I squatted down to oversee the damage. I repaired my bag with a few spells and started to angrily stuff my belongings inside.
"Tell professor Sprout I'm late okay?" I said motioning my hand towards the greenhouse, non-verbally telling her that she could leave and then wouldn't be late for class.
"Are you sure?" She said as she eyed me suspiciously. The entire situation was weird and she didn't trust it. I sighed at her for a short moment, I'd be fine.
"Yeah, just go." I said. "Really, I'll be there in a minute."
Marie shrugged and walked away while I cleaned up the mess. My ink bottle broke and it was smeared all over my stuff. I groaned. Yeah why not? Torment me more.
