Marshall was sitting on a chair across the room, talking to some kids that were still asking him questions.

Today he was visiting a school in Detroit, a quite dangerous neighborhood. He had donated money so they could renovate the school since it was so old it would've been teared down otherwise. So in return to that the school invited him.

You watched him talking to the little kids that seemed so excited to be talking to him. And he actually looked happy too. He was constantly smiling and joking around with them.

It made you smile. He was such a good person. He doesn't get enough credit for it. He has such a big heart.

You are here because you're his assistant and his friend. You were sitting next to Paul. Denaun had just stood up and walked over to Marshall.

It was so fun to watch the both of them.

The teachers were standing in a corner, just watching the scene happily. They had all taken pictures with Marshall earlier.

Next to me Paul shifted in his seat and looked at the clock. "Y/n, we need to leave soon. Can you tell Marshall? I need to talk to the principle one more time."

"Sure", you nodded and stood up.

You walked over to Marshall and laid a hand on his shoulder. "Hi", you smiled when he turned around. "You look happy."

"I am", he smiled back.

You crouched down next to his chair and put a hand on his thigh to steady yourself a bit.

"We need to leave in a couple of minutes", you said so only he would hear it. "So say good bye to your new friends, Marshall", you mocked.

That made him chuckle. But then he opened his mouth again. "I don't know how to say it. Let Paul do it", he shrugged.

"Marsh", you groaned and stood up again. "Come on, just give them all a hug and then we can leave."

He sighed and stood up.

———

After Marshall had said good bye to everyone, we left the school and drove back to his house. You still needed to do some stuff there. Marshall had actually asked you earlier if you could bake a cake with him since it was his daughters birthday tomorrow.

So of course you agreed to that because you know how bad he is at everything kitchen-related.

———

"Noo, Marshall, you needed to separate the eggwhites from the yolk!", you said, getting slightly upset with him.

He was literally doing everything wrong...

"I'm sorry", he shrugged. "I thought it didnt matter."

"It does, but nevermind", you sighed and tried not to make a big deal out of it.

"Y/n, come on", he chuckled and nudged you in the side.

After a time you were the only one doing the cake. Marshall already gave up and was now sitting on the kitchen counter watching you.

After you had put the cake into the oven you walked over to him.

"Thanks", he just chuckled.

You playfully rolled your eyes at him and then just placed your hands on his thighs and looked up to him.

"Do you need me tomorrow?", you asked. "Cause I promised Paul to help him with a few things tomorrow at the studio and after that I'm going to therapy."

"No its fine", he assured you. "I'll be there too but later i need to drive over to Alaina's anyways."

You nodded. You suddenly felt so exhausted from the whole day. The kids were all super nice and sweet but still very annoying sometimes.
