"WHAT DID KLAUS AND RAINA WANT?" ELENA ASKED. "The same thing that they'll want from you. They want to break the curse" Katherine answered "By sacrificing the Petrova doppelgänger" Elena guessed "They wanted to drain every single drop of blood from my body" The vampire doppelgänger confirmed, taking another glass of blood.
"What does the Petrova bloodline have to do with Klaus and Raina?" Elena asked. "It's really tedious but the curse was bound by the sacrifice of Petrova blood. Witches are crafty with their spells. The doppelgänger was created as a way to be able to undo the spell. Once the doppelgänger reappeared, the curse can be broken" Katherine explained. "So you ran before they killed you?" Raina asked, playing along to Elena's cluelessness. "Something like that" the vampire dopplegänger then went on to explain how she ended up in a cottage with Rose who was about to give her back to the originals. How much simpler her life would be if Rose just had a goddamn daylight ring.
"Rose never ended up taking you back to Raina and Klaus, did she?" Elena asked. No, but not because she had a change of heart" Katherine said, explaining how she tricked Rose into feeding her vampire blood and then hung herself.
"You killed yourself?!" The human dopplegänger asked, horrified. "It was the smart move, if they needed a human doppelgänger. As a vampire, you were no longer any use to them" Raina admitted. "But it didn't work. You didn't really escape, you've been running from Klaus and Raina ever since" Elena said. "I underestimated their spirit for vengeance" Katherine admitted "Clearly" Raina snorted "But living in a suitcase is better than dying so you can have your blood spilled over some silly little rock."
Elena looked sick "What's wrong? Afraid I'm right? You don't want to die? There's another way out" Katherina cut her wrist with her nail causing her to bleed out. Raina scowled as she watched the blood trickle down. She doubted that Elena would take it but still, the urge to decapitate Katerina was there. Ofcourse she couldn't do that. Not until she got what she needed. She'd almost strangled Bonnie when she found out that the Bennett witch had given a witch the moonstone. Said witch then gave it to Katherine before betraying her but the moonstone was in the vampire dopplegänger's possession either way. Now Raina would have to make her a deal. "Better hurry. Your opportunity is going, going, going and gone" Katherine said as the cut on his wrist healed "I made the other choice"
"So how much of your little story is true?" Raina asked. "I have no reason to lie. I have no reason to do anything but sit here and read and rot" Katherine said. "Okay, assuming it's even partially true, that's the reason why you came back isn't it? Because you wanted to be the one to hand me over to Klaus and Raina" Elena guessed. Smart. "Five hundred years on the run, I figured maybe they'd be willing to strike a deal" Katherine shrugged.
"So you got Mason Lockwood to find you the moonstone" Elena stated "Right again" The vampire doppelgänger said. "What else do you need to break the curse?" The Dopplegänger asked. "It's not just me or the stone, is it? Otherwise there would be no reason to trigger Tyler Lockwood's werewolf curse" she reasoned. "Witches and their spells, so many ingredients, so many people to sacrifice" Katherine drawled.
