AS PER USUAL DAMON SALVATORE HAD A STUPID IDEA. Their focus had shifted now that the werewolves had gone and taken Tyler with them. She was angry for the first five minutes until she gave it some thought and realized that it could be an advantage. When Klaus arrived with his witches there would be several items at the Lockwood house that they could use in a locator spell to find Tyler and the rest of Jules' pack. And foolishly, the Salvatores decided to backstab Elijah due to lack of faith in him.

Damon instructed his new girlfriend, Andie to suggest a dinner party. While Jenna helped Andie set the table Raina was in the library with Damon and Alaric. "This is a bad idea" The vampire hunter warned. "There's no such thing as a bad idea. Just poorly executed awesome ones" Damon said. "Here" he handed Alaric a glass of scotch who refused it.

"No. I don't like the idea of Elijah being in the same house with Jenna" Alaric said "Jenna's perfectly safe. Besides, it's just a fact-finding mission. It's totally harmless" Damon assured him though from what he'd told Raina, it was a lie to appease Alaric. "Just a fact-finding mission?" He asked. "Yeah" Damon said.

"Listen, no sneak attacks. No surprise plans. Nothing that's gonna put Jenna in harm's way. Okay?" Alaric said firmly. "Scout's honor" Damon put his hand up and grabbed Alaric's shoulder. The vampire hunter gave him a skeptical look, not entirely convinced. That was when Andie entered the library "Hey, Jenna needs help with the wine"

Raina flipped through the book boredly. She was only half listening to the conversation downstairs so she didn't miss her cue. The plan was simple, while she waited here they would have a nice dinner with Elijah then the men would come upstairs to the library where she was supposed to get the jump on Elijah and run him through with the silver dagger.

"I hate to break it to you, Damon, but according to Elijah, your family is so not a founder of this town" Jenna said. "Hmm, do tell" Damon urged "Well, as I mentioned to Jenna earlier, a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1690s. Over the next hundred years they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution" Elijah explained. Ofcourse there was civilization over six hundred years before then.

"Hmm. Because they were witches" Jenna said "Yeah, but there's no tangible proof there were witches in Salem" Andie pointed out. "Andie's a journalist. Big on facts" Damon said. "Well, the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighboring settlement, so these witches were rounded up. They were tied to stakes in a field together and, uh, burned. Some say you could hear the screams from miles around us. They were consumed by the fire" Elijah said casually "Could you pass the..."

"I wouldn't repeat this to the Historical Society" Jenna warned "It's starting to sound a little like a ghost story to me" John said. "So, why do you want to know the location of these alleged massacres?" Damon asked. "You know...a healthy historian's curiosity, of course" Elijah replied. Ofcourse Raina knew it was far more than that, a site where many witches were burnt together? It would hold incredible magic. "Of course" Damon said.

"Would anyone care for some cognac? I have a bottle that I've been saving for ages" he asked. Raina heard the scrape of his chair against wood as he stood. "None for me thanks. Nine bottles of wine is my limit" Alaric said. Raina heard footsteps as Damon and Elijah made their way up to the library. She put the book away and hid in between the shelves, holding the dagger tightly. She could take Elijah but she had to make sure she didn't mess it up or he'd ruin her entire cover.

"So, let me guess. In addition to the moonstone, the doppelgänger, the lion, the witch and the wardrobe, you need to find this witch burial ground" Damon guessed "Because I feel as though we've grown so close, Damon, I'll tell you yes. Do you know where it is?" Elijah asked. "Maybe. Tell me why it's so important" The Salvatore asked as he handed Elijah a glass of scotch.

"We're not that close" Elijah replied as he scanned the books, Raina moved further into the shadows. "It's quite a collection you have here" he remarked. Raina tensed, she got ready to dash towards him and drive the dagger through his heart.

"It's a funny thing about books. Before they existed, people actually had memories" Elijah said. Suddenly Alaric and Andie burst through the doors. Raina paused, retreating back. "Gentlemen, we forgot about dessert" Alaric said. "Elijah" Andie said, holding her hand out for him.

"Miss Star..." Elijah handed his glass to Damon and took Andie's hand. He twirled her around and they walked out of the room together.

As soon as the two left both Damon and Raina turned on Alaric, the latter coming out of her hiding spot to glare at him. Alaric pointed down at the dagger but neither vampire understood what he meant. Alaric walked over to a desk and wrote something on a piece of paper that he gave to the two vampires. 'The dagger will kill you if you use it' it read.

Raina barely silenced a frustrated huff, if only they didn't find out about it, Elijah would already be daggered and cease being a thorn in her side. Damon threw the paper at Alaric, just as frustrated as her. The two exited the room but she stayed, listening to what was happening. "Ric, would you do me a favor and grab the notebook out of my bag?" Andie asked. Raina heard the sound of a zipper being opened

"Elijah, did John tell you he's Elena's uncle-slash-father?" Damon asked. "Yes, I'm well aware of that" Elijah said. "Of course, she hates him, so there's absolutely no need to keep him on the endangered species list" The vampire continued.

"No Ric, it's in the front pocket. On the...you know what? Excuse me, guys. Sorry" Andie said, Raina heard her chair move as well as her footsteps as she went to help Alaric find her notebook "What I'd like to know, Elijah, is how do you intend on killing Klaus and Raina?" John asked. Raina stiffened, she knew that Elijah planned to save Elena from the ritual but killing her and Klaus? Permanently? She felt a twinge of hurt and betrayal.

It might have hurt less if he was planning to desiccate her and lock her in a coffin like she planned to do to him. That was only fair though she never expected Elijah to want to go this far. Not that it mattered in the long run, only she knew where the last bit of white oak was.

"Gentlemen, there's a few things we should probably get clear right now. I allow you to live solely to keep an eye on Elena. I allow Elena to remain in her house living her life with her friends as she does as a courtesy. If you become a liability, I'll take her away from you and you'll never see her again" Elijah threatened calmly.

Andie returned to the table "Okay. My first question is when you got here to Mystic-" she didn't get to finish her sentence before Raina heard the sound of blade piercing flesh and the sound of Elijah's scream. She deemed it safe to enter the room with the others then.

Her brother's desiccated body was on the chair but the dagger had been pulled out of his chest. "Now, get rid of him before Jenna comes back with dessert" Alaric ordered. "I'll take care of him" Raina offered as she laughed up Elijah's corpse. She took the dagger with her as well and set him down in the basement and locked the doors. It was a few hours before he awoke, he didn't get to process much before the dagger was stabbed into him again. This time, it would stay there.
