RAINA LEANED AGAINST THE WALL OF THE SALVATORE HOUSE. She watched as Damon handed a trembling Caroline a glass of blood. After she'd found out that Katerina had found ways to screw up her plan. Again. She'd stormed off to take her anger out on something. Preferably via murder. When she'd returned she'd found out that Stefan and Elena had retrieved the moonstone. Good news. Bad news? Damon killed Mason.
That meant she'd not only have to trigger Tyler's curse but she'd have to wait a few weeks until the next full moon. However, she first needed to get rid of a certain Petrova vampire who was being a thorn in her side. Luckily, she had a feeling that the new Dopplegänger and her friends would be more than glad to help her.
"What happened?" Stefan asked Caroline. "Go ahead, tell him. You're gonna love this" Damon said. "I saw Katherine today" The blonde vampire said. "Where?" The ripped asked "At the Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and... quasi-stalk Matt" Caroline said "Skip the teen drama and get to it" Damon said.
"Then I had to pretend to use the bathroom even though I didn't really have to go because I'm a doofus" Caroline went on to explain how Katerina threatened to rip apart Mystic Falls if she didn't get the moonstone tonight at the masquerade ball. Raina scowled, no way in hell was she letting Katerina have the moonstone. That Dopplegänger has already messed up one ritual, the last thing Raina needed was for her to mess this one up as well.
"She wants to do it in public. Killing Mason threw her off guard" Stefan guessed "She's running scared. What she did to Jenna was desperate. She's out of tricks" Damon agreed. "Don't underestimate her. Right now she's a cornered animal and she'd do anything to escape" Raina warned.
"Your right. We have to play this smarter than her" Stefan said. "Can we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?" Caroline asked. "No" Raina said sharply "That moonstone must be worth a lot and have just as much power if Katherine is willing to go to such extreme lengths to get it"
"Besides, I've had it. I'm gonna go to the masquerade ball and I'm gonna kill her, tonight" Damon declared "Fine by me" The Original shrugged. "You're not gonna kill her" Stefan said. Raina shot him an incredulous look. Was he being serious right now? "Yes. We will. You don't want to, then there's door Salvatore" she said.
"You're not gonna kill her" Stefan repeated. "Really?" Damon asked "And why's that?" Raina asked "Because I am"
Raina fiddled with a stake as the Bennett witch entered. "I got Stefan's message" Bonnie said. "Hey, you brought the grimoire, thank you" Stefan said. The Bennett witch spotted the numerous weapons on the table "What's going on?" She asked. "We're gonna kill Katherine" Jeremy Gilbert said, making his way over to the table where Alaric and Damon were.
