━━━━━━━━IF YOU ASKED RAINA WHERE SHE'D RATHER BE RIGHT NOW she'd respond with anything but this high school fair with its annoyingly loud walking bloodbags but where her Dopplegänger went, she went as well. She'd burnt in that fire but had awoken a few hours later. It hadn't been too hard to compel herself a change of clothes as well as a hotel room which would be her temporary residence until she found a mansion that would be to her liking. After that it was easy enough, she simply asked directions to Stefan Salvatore's residence and was pointed towards the Salvatore boarding house. Since then she'd simply been waiting and watching from the shadows, undetected. It was admittedly quite boring though she'd expected that and had made a backup plan in case her current wait and watch became either too boring or failed.
She stood, her presence lost in the crowd. As it turned out she wasn't the only person observing. Damon too was keeping an eye on the Lockwood boy (Tyler was it?) In hopes of trying to find out what his species was. Raina had already come to the conclusion that the Lockwoods were werewolves but she didn't know if any of them were triggered or not. "You're lurking" Stefan said, coming to stand beside his brother. "I'm observing" Damon retorted "More like obsessing" Stefan said. Another round of cheers went up in the humans watching as Tyler won, again.
"He's got strength" Damon commented "He's a triple letter varsity athlete, of course he has strength. You're reaching" Stefan responded. The other Lockwood stepped up, Tyler's uncle as she found out. "I bet I can take you" he challenged "Enter the uncle" Damon said. "That's ridiculous" Stefan scoffed. Raina watched the two struggle against each other for a little before Mason slammed Tyler's hand onto the table. "Okay, he's the champ, who wants to go next?" Tyler asked. Raina might have gone forward to check for herself if it hadn't meant drawing attention to herself. But she didn't have to, Damon was doing it for her.
"Stefan wants a go" Damon said, giving his brother a look. "Yeah, sure, I'll... give it a shot" Stefan said, walking up to Mason. "Get him Stef!" Damon cheered. "My brother over there thinks I can beat you" Stefan muttered to Mason. "Your brother's wrong" Mason responded. The bell dinged and the two started wrestling. Raina could see both of them putting effort in, even if Stefan wasn't using all his vampire strength he was using a fair amount of it. Mason must have been triggered then, an untriggered werewolf didn't stand a chance against a vampire. A triggered one without the full moon had a slim chance against a vampire but it was a chance nonetheless.
Finally Stefan gave in, allowing Mason to slam his hand down on the table before making his way back to Damon. "You didn't put in any effort at all" He scoffed "Yeah, actually I did" Stefan responded. "Come with me" Damon said, leading his brother into the semi crowded hallway. Raina stayed with the humans but she moved closer to the hallway to hear them better. "Is he...?" Damon asked "No, no, it wasn't that kind of strength but it was more than human, if that makes any sense" Stefan explained
"What is up with that family? They're not vampires, what the hell are they?" Damon asked"Ooh, ah, maybe they're, um, ninja turtles!" Stefan suggested jokingly. Raina bit back a snicker, if she could hear them then they could surely hear her "You're not funny" Damon said. She disagreed. "Or no, zombies, werewolves" Stefan continued. Ding ding ding. "No comedic timing at all" Damon said. "What? What are you up to?" Stefan asked. Raina risked a glance back and saw them both looking at a human who was repairing something. "This is reality and there's no such thing as werewolves or...combat turtles" Damon said. How was it possible for one to be smart yet incredibly stupid at once? That was the question that she, in all her thousand years of life had never been able to answer. Ofcourse the question was usually directed at Klaus.
"I said ninja turtles, actually" Stefan corrected but Damon ignored him and went towards the human. "Hey you!" He called. "I have a name" The human responded. "Yeah I don't care" He caught his shoulders "I need you to pick a fight with someone, a kid named Tyler Lockwood" he instructed "Damon, don't do this" Stefan warned
Damon motioned his brother away "It's just an experiment" he said before going back to the human "Get him mad, don't back down no matter what he does, okay?" He compelled. "I won't back down" The human echoed "I know you won't" Damon said, patting him on the back as he walked away. "Do you realize someone is going to get hurt right?" Stefan asked "No, someone is going to get mad, as in rage" Damon corrected. Raina stifled a smile as she watched. She was starting to have a favorite Salvatore.
"What's that going to accomplish?" Stefan asked "That Tyler kid is incapable of walking away from a fight. Let's see who intervenes; maybe it's the ambiguous, supernatural mystery uncle" Damon said before walking away. Stefan went after the compelled human and Raina followed after them both. It took a bit but the human finally managed to find Tyler in the parking lot, texting on his phone. Both Vampires hid themselves to observe the scene. The human came from the opposite direction and bumped Tyler with his shoulder as he passed. "Watch where you're going" Tyler said "You got a problem?" The human asked, crossing his arms "Yeah, you walked right into me" Tyler said.
"What are you going to do about it?" The human challenged "You're kidding right?" Tyler asked though she could see the anger starting to bubble up to the surface. The human pushed him back. "You better back off" Tyler warned. The human pushed him again. "You hit me again, I swear to god-" Tyler didn't get to finish his sentence as the human punched him in the face. That sent him over the edge. As the two began to brawl Mason showed up, running towards them. "Hey Tyler! Tyler!"
He tried to break the fight up, pushing the human away and standing between the two to separate them. "What the hell man?" He asked the human who was still struggling against him. In response the human punched him in the face twice and pushed him over the front car before trying to resume his fight with Tyler. Mason somersaulted back over the car, jumping over the human and crouched on landing. His irises had turned golden. And that right there was solid proof he was triggered.
"Your eyes!" Tyler exclaimed. Mason hit Carter, causing him to fall on the floor of the parking lot. Mason and Tyler rush towards their car while Stefan approaches the human. "You all right man?" Stefan asked, crouching down in front of him "Why did I just do that?" The human asked "You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time" Stefan said. Raina wasn't listening to them, the way Tyler had pointed Mason's eyes out had hinted that he didn't know about the werewolf curse but at the same time...
No point thinking it over, she already knew where they lived. She was finally getting some solid answers, besides, danger magnet as she was there wasn't much that could happen to her Dopplegänger in just a few minutes.
