NO EXPENSE HAD BEEN SPARED. A common trait found in the extravagant parties and balls thrown by either Klaus or Raina. This time however it was a party by Klaus for his birthday. Raina didn't know why her brother insisted on birthdays since they would never age. In a glittering black dress, Raina was an envy, capturing the attention of both men and women. She joined in with the chatter though only half paying attention.
Her brother was nowhere to be found. Not a surprise as he favored being fashionably late. Dramatic entrances and all that. She liked to be on time, unless she wanted to make it clear just how unimportant somebody was to her, then 'fashionably late' would be an understatement. She saw Elijah in the crowd but even from this distance she could tell that her brother's expression wasn't his usual polite mask. No, there was something else... Did it have something to do with the supposedly grand gift that a vampire was bringing to Klaus?
She didn't waste much time wondering and excused herself from the group of ladies, making her way to her brother. She didn't bother asking, not when her gaze landed on the girl next to her. Light bronze skin and curly brown hair in an elegant updo. For the briefest moment, Raina forgot how to speak. Then she was aware of how she was gaping like an idiot and smoothed her features into a pleasant expression. Elijah said a name that was lost on her in her surprise "This is my sister, Lady Raina"
"Hello" Raina's freedom, the Petrova dopplegänger said. "Sister, meet Katerina" Elijah said. "It's a pleasure to meet you Katerina" Raina said smoothly, curtsying to the dopplegänger. "The pleasure is all mine" Katerina replied. It wouldn't be soon... "If you don't mind brother, I would like to speak to Katerina alone" Raina said, forcing a sweet tone into her voice.
"Ofcourse not, I shall inform our brother about the new arrival. I'm sure he would like to greet her himself" Elijah said before he left. Raina looked back at the dopplegänger "Where are you from Katerina?" She asked. "Bulgaria, my lady" Katerina said. Raina smiled "Well then, Zdravei Katerina" The dopplegänger smiled broadly at the use of her mother tongue. "Very good!" She giggled, unaware that the next time Raina would greet her like that, it would be on far more unpleasant terms.

Raina had been quick to charm and befriend Katerina Petrova. They had yet to retrieve any of the other ingredients needed for the ritual. According to Klaus they would arrive soon. But there was a part of her, tiny as it was, that wished it wouldn't. She had always thought the Petrova dopplegängers to be beautiful though she didn't know when or how it went from a simple acknowledgement of their beauty to secret kisses exchanged in the dark. As far as anybody else was concerned they were simply 'good friends' though Elijah was far from fooled.
