5 days later. . .
The day for the wedding finally came. I was freaking anxious. Alma thought it was wedding jitters, but it wasn't. My acting skills were about to be put to the test.
This was by far my biggest gig in my acting career as far as I was concerned, and it looked too realistic for my liking.
We were not just pretending to get married. We actually were about to get married, and it scared the shit out of me. I knew that no matter what, it wasn't going to be real, and it was too late to back down now, but I couldn't help but be anxious.
"This will help calm your nerves," Alma said, bringing me out of my thoughts. She started softly massaging my shoulders, and indeed, it calmed me.
I looked at her through the large dresser mirror where I sat in front of, and said...
"It actually worked." she then smiled at me.Alma had already helped me with my extra long bath, brought me a little breakfast, and sat me in front of the dresser while we waited for the make-up and hair stylist.
I looked at the mirror again, this time staring at the headless mannequin that was wearing my glamorous wedding dress behind me. It was a full bridal ball gown with actual diamond detailing to the top part of the dress. It was beautiful and stunning. In fact, my words could not overemphasize how beautiful the dress was.
It would have been my dream wedding dress on my actual wedding day if I could afford it.
"How do you feel now?" Alma asked me, pulling me out of my thoughts again.
"Much better, thank you," I said to her.
Just then, the room door opened, and a familiar voice squealed my name. I whipped around and saw my sister standing by the door.
"Ruby?" I said in utter surprise. Instantly, i felt a rush of joy, and i stood up to my feet just as she ran to me and hugged me. I hugged her back, equally squeezing her in my arms.
When we finally pulled away from each other, I immediately asked her how she was here.
"Nicholas made it possible. He thought it would be a nice surprise gesture," Ruby said, smiling cheekily.
"Really?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Yes, isn't that so romantic?" Ruby teased, making me smile. She was overly dramatic and also weirdly right. It was really sweet of him to make sure my sister was with me on my fake big day.
"Hi," Ruby noticed Alma behind me. I had totally forgotten Alma was there.
"This is Alma." I moved aside, making her more visible.
"Alma, this is my sister, Ruby," I introduced them."Nice to meet you, Ruby," She said, showing curtesy.
"Nice to meet you too, Alma." she smiled at her just before she caught a glimpse of my dress, and her attention totally diverted.
"No freaking way!" She exclaimed, moving towards the mannequin. "This is absolutely gorgeous," she praised.
She turned around, a look of both surprise and excitment plastered all over her face.
"This all look so real, for something that isn't even..." My eyes widened in horror, and she instantly paused.
