○●○After our little kiss moment, things got awkward between Nicholas and me.
It was so awkward to the extent that we barely even said a word to each other. The highest form of communication we had was just a brief stare.
It made me so uncomfortable.
And I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss. How his lips felt on mine, how his touch felt on my skin. Every time I remembered it, I longed for more of it.
It hurt me to know that he thought he was taking advantage of me because if he thought that, then maybe he was taking advantage of the moment. I didn't want that.
I wanted him to kiss me for the right reasons.
Feeling tormented by everything, I went to Ruby's room. Immediately I walked in, I started pacing back and forth.
"Crystal?" Ruby was surprised by how I was acting. "Are you okay? Did something happen?" She sounded somewhat alarmed.
"No," I quickly said, calming her. "Yes," I then said, realising that wasn't the best answer. Something did, in fact, happen.
"What happened, Crystal?" Ruby asked. She was starting to get worried.
I paused, took a deep breath, and looked at her."I kissed Nicholas," I blurted out.
"What!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Well, actually, he kissed me," I tried to defend, realising how that sounded.
"Crystal!" Ruby exclaimed again.
"It just happened so fast," I defended again.
"When did this happen?" She asked.
"Last night," I admitted.
"Oh my God!" she exclaimed for the hundredth time. I knew she would probably find this a little bit amusing.
"How was it?" She then surprised me by asking.
"Ruby," I drawled, not expecting her reaction.
"What? Did you expect me to judge you?" She said, almost in a duh tone.
"Yes. You should judge me, I didn't do the right thing," I whined, moving over to sit on her bed.
"Honestly, I imagined this would happen sooner or later," Ruby admitted, surprising me even more.
"You're human, Crystal, and he is a hot king. So no, I don't judge you for this," she said in a very assuring and soothing way."But he hasn't said anything to me yet. He probably regrets kissing me," I said, feeling too paranoid.
"Or he's just freaking out just like you are," she tried to convince me. "Either way, you will get your answer soon enough," she said, and I just pouted at her.
She giggled and pulled me in a hug.Later that night, I was done with the awkwardness. So I decided to go out. I wanted to go somewhere, anywhere, get some air, distract myself, just like I usually did.
I got dressed in a simple black dress. It hugged my body, but it wasn't revealing as much as the ones I wore when I had my hidden agenda. I decided that I would go to a bar or a club.
When I finished dressing, Nicholas walked into the room. He glanced at me once and then looked away.
"Are you going somewhere?" He asked, looking everywhere but me.
"Yeah," I simply answered.
"Where are you going?" He asked. I kind of found his questions annoying, maybe because I was angry that he hadn't said anything about the kiss.
