Brent?
What the hell was Brent doing next to me?
How the hell did he get in my bed?
Oh God.
I was in a full blown panic mood. The look on Nicholas's face was that of disappointment and betrayal.
I had never been so confused in my life but at the same time, I wanted to tell Nicholas not to believe what he was seeing.
I quickly pushed off the blanket, got off the bed and tried to make my way to him, but then Ruby gasped and slapped her hand over her mouth whilst looking at me.
Nicholas also gave me a once-over before looking at me with disgust.Once again, confused, I looked down at myself and discovered that I was completely naked.
Oh my God!
"No." I shook my head fiercely, looking up at Nicholas. I didn't know where to begin to explain myself. I opened my mouth, but before I could say anything, Nicholas turned around and left the room.
I dragged the blanket off the bed and quickly wrapped it around my body before running after him. I didn't even care that I looked so inappropriate, all I cared about was getting to Nicholas.
"Nicholas," I yelled after him while trying to catch up to him. He quickened his pace and entered his room, slamming the door shut.
"Nicholas," I yelled again, just when I heard the sound of the door being locked from the inside.
"Nicholas, please listen to me." Hot tears ran down my face as I tried to explain myself.
Where was I even supposed to begin? The last thing that I remembered was trying to get to his room and that was it. How was I supposed to prove to him that I had no idea what happened or what Brent was doing in my bed?
"I didn't do it, it's not what it looks like." I started from there, turning the door handle over and over as if it would magically open.
"Nicholas please let me in." I knocked on the door fervently, hoping that he would open the door and let me in and then hear me out. But he didn't.
I just leaned on his door with just a blanket wrapped around my body while the guards stood there and watched me probably wondering what was going on.
"Nicholas," I yelled once again, my voice cracking over and over.
"Crystal, stop." Ruby came beside me, "Come with me" She tried to pull me with her but I didn't budge.
"Crystal, please you have to come with me, your blanket is falling apart and you are embarrassing yourself. Soon the rest of the palace will come up here to know what's going on." Ruby said but at that moment, I didn't care about the things that she was talking about. I just wanted Nicholas to open the door.
"I didn't do it," I told her.
"I know. I know you wouldn't do this. Just come with me and we will figure out how to get to Nicholas. For now, let's give him some time." She convinced me and I finally listened to her. I let her pull me away from the door and back into my previous room.
