7 months later

I got dressed in a really pretty silk white dress.

Ruby had picked it out for me as the best outfit for my date with Nicholas. I had been in bed for the past week, and Nicholas thought we should go out on a date. His words were "You need some fresh air."

So I stood in front of the mirror and stared at my reflection. My stomach was so big and rounded that I placed my hand on it and rubbed over it. I couldn't believe how far I had come. I was 39 weeks pregnant, and I was doing just fine.

My stature was still quite the same, and I was happy about that, and even though I felt like my body weight was pulling me down, I still looked beautiful.

Alma had done a little make-up on me and styled my hair nicely. As I admired myself, Nicholas came behind me and held me, wrapping his around my protruding belly. I smiled, looking at him in the mirror.

"You are gorgeous," he said, staring at me through the mirror as well, then placing a kiss on my cheek.

I turned around and placed my arms on his shoulder. "Where are we going?" I asked him.

"It's a surprise," he simply said, staring at me lovingly. I bit my lips in anticipation. Nicholas always loved surprising me every single time, so I wasn't really surprised that he would say that. I loved the suspense and the thrill it gave me, waiting and ready to be wowed and blown away by his gesture.

When we finished getting ready, the driver drove us to the said destination. He held my hand, and we entered into the huge building, made our way to the elevator, and he pushed a button for the last floor.

"Where are we going, Mr Nicholas?" I asked, my curiousity getting the better of me. It didn't look like a restaurant or mall or anything, so I was both confused and excited, and I couldn't wait to see whatever he had planned.

"I rented a space just for the both of us," he said, with a charming smile.

"Charming as always," I commended.

The elevator came to a stop with a ding sound, and then the doors opened. We stepped out of it and walked into a dark room.

"Why is it dark in here?" I asked. I couldn't see a thing inside, so I halted my steps.

"Because it's a surprise." he let go of my hand and walked over to a corner, supposedly to turn on the lights switch. "Are you ready for the surprise?" He asked me, and my lips tugged up in a wide smile.

"Yes," I answered excitedly.

"Okay," he said, then I heard the click of a switch.

Immediately the room lit up, I was instantly startled by the voices that yelled...
"surprise!"

My eyes widened, and my lips parted in amazement. I was expecting to see a small, beautiful setting for a date as Nicholas had told me, but what I saw was a large room so elegantly decorated with lots of colourful flowers and balloons. At the very front of the room, there was a banner that had the writing ' Crystal's Baby Shower' on it, with blue and pink balloons all around it.

I slapped my hand over my mouth, feeling goosebumps after seeing the banner and then looking at all the smiling faces in front of me. Everyone was present, Ruby, Luke, Elisabeth, Federick, Alma, Eve, and a few other people I didn't recognize. I couldn't help the tears that rolled down my cheeks. My heart was beating fast but was filled with so much joy and excitement.
