Narrator POV

As soon as Kakashi started the fight, Chocho wasted no time in jumping back and launching a barrage of kunai and shuriken at Karui & Choji, who dodged them with ease by jumping up, only to find their daughter right above their heads with 2 chakra imbued swords an inch apart from their necks. On instinct, both used the substitution jutsu and replaced themselves with logs. Falling back before they could devise a strategy or perform any Jutsu, Karui had to block a kick aimed at her head, and Choji had to block a gut punch. It was a chase, with Chocho hot on their heels.

KAKASHI: Hmmmm... Chocho is not giving them any openings.

TSUNADE: Yeah, she is not giving them any time to analyse and attack

INOJIN: Well, they do say that sometimes a good offence is the best defence

INO: True, but it's still a poor strategy. At best, she is just keeping things in a stalemate. In an actual fight, the essence of your plan should revolve around beating the opponent, not just subduing them.

SHIKAMARU: This method is unsuitable because it's way too exhausting. She is against 2 opponents, and engaging in a cat-and-mouse chase with them to keep them from attacking will tire her out 1st. Stamina is important in a battle, and by looking at things closely, by not letting them attack, she is just running away from them and acknowledging that she won't be able to take their attacks.

NARUTO: Yeah, that's one way to put it. But this won't work for long, the more experienced party will gap itself. And when they do, Chocho will be at a disadvantage because of her exhaustion.

Just as Naruto said, Choji and Karui managed to pull back and created a good 10-foot gap.

CHOJI: I must say, for our clan's standards, you have surely become superfast, but unfortunately, being fast won't lead you to victory against me.

CHOCHO: Time will tell

With that, both parties engaged in another round of combat; however, this time, Choji and Karui had the upper hand, and Chocho appeared to be struggling.

TSUNADE: Well, if this keeps up, then you might as well stop the match now, Kakashi

BOLT: Why? The winner isn't decided yet.

TSUNADE: It is boy. Keep in mind that these matches were organised specifically to gauge the capabilities you all had as shinobi so that we higher-ups could decide whether or not you lot were worthy of the mission. And to judge the capabilities, just using the criterion of who won or who lost is way too shallow; what we are looking for is a certain fighter within you all, which can assure us that you can complete the mission AND return safe and sound. However, in this fight, I fail to see that Chocho managed an initial stalemate, good, but she hasn't displayed anything that led her to have the upper hand in the fight, even for a second. That's why I don't see her coming out as the victor in this match.

KAKASHI: Well, I can't bring myself to disagree

INOJIN: I wouldn't give the verdict so soon if I were you, lord 6th, look closely,y she is about to make her move

SHIKADAI: What a drag, it seems like I have been an influence on her

The older generation raised an eyebrow at Shikadai's words, but directed their attention back at the fight, only to see Chocho pull back,

KARUI: Giving up? I thought you had more fight in you, alas! I'm disappointed.

CHOJI: I agree

Chocho just gave them a blank stare.

SHIKADAI: Don't plan the parade yet, Uncle Choji, especially when you're going to lose.

INO: What do you mean?
