Standing in front of the Woolworth Building, Mia remains perfectly still with her hands inside her black coat. To say she's nervous would be an understatement. Even if she's not attending a magical school, she's worried about the congress' decision. If they're anything like the Ministry, it's safe to say the interrogation will be anything but pleasant.

She left the hotel room about half an hour ago. Dealing with the silence exchanged between her and her mother is not something she needs before her hearing. It's already hard enough not having spoken for over a week that doing so before this trial feels like a disaster ready to happen.

When the crossing light changes, she takes a deep breath and walks to the opposite side of the street. It's still a little bit early, but she would much rather enter the building alone than with unwanted company. She knows her mother is regretful for her words and forgiving her would be the right thing, but she's not ready to do so yet. There's one issue that needs to be handled and family drama isn't first on the list. So for now, all she does is head to the main entrance and wait for the next stage.

A golden owl is carved into the revolving door and a young man wearing a dark overcoat with an odd looking hat stands beside it. They nod at each other in understanding, leading to him opening the door for her.

Right as she enters, the differences between the Ministry and the Magical Congress are quite noticeable. For starters, she didn't have to enter an abandoned phone booth or flush herself down a toilet. The Magical Congress is brighter and filled with golden and tons of white colors. The floors are a polished dark gray and the main headquarters have windows running all the way from the ceiling to the ground. The walls are stripped and a massive antique clock hovers in the center, showcasing where the wizarding world stands on the amount of magic exposures and the risk levels of it.

This place is less dungeon-like, which she greatly appreciates, but also makes her wonder if by this bright facade, would that mean they're more strict than the Ministry? If that's the case, then she's definitely screwed.

"Mia!"

She curses under her breath when hearing her mother. The point of leaving the hotel much earlier was to avoid seeing her, but it seems her attempts had been in vain. With reluctance, she turns around and sees Isobel running up the stairs.

"You couldn't have waited for me?"

"I didn't need added stress to this day," Mia grumbles and continues walking up. She tries ignoring the sound of her heels against the floor, but they smash against her skull and make her mood turn much more irritable.

"Hello!" A young woman walks up to them with a friendly smile. Her shoulder length blonde hair makes the green in her eyes pop and her stance radiates confidence. "I'm Ciri Kowalski and you must be Mia and Isobel Grey."

Mia's surprised that she knows their name considering there must be tons of cases the congress is dealing with. It's not like theirs is of grave importance since there must surely be lots of dangers circulating the States right now.
