Katie POV:

I walked around my room, going back and forth. Daniel had taken Will for the day to do some father and son time. But I just couldn't shake the feeling that something was up when it came to the butler, the envelope, everything.

I couldn't shake the feeling. Walking out of the room, I spedwalk over to  the kitchen to see if I could distract myself a bit from whatever was going on. Daniel was not one to go fully territorial or upset like that unless it involved his kingdom or family.

POV:

Walking over to the stove, She turned it on and grabbed some eggs and some meat. Looking around she was surprised that the chef wasn't around. He usually looks at her kinda funny when she would start cooking something that is plain. Not in a bad way but he definatly isn't used to cooking plain looking eggs, bacon or toast.

Being in a chef in the castle of a royal family, usually breakfast had to be fancy, look very professional and clean. He had been working for the family for years and his mentor was the original head chef, one of the queens favorites. When his mentor retired and he took over, he became very nervous that she wouldn't be ok with his food or it wouldn't meet her royal standards.

He passed with flying colors and continued as the head chef. When he looked at her in the kitchen and had her making normal food, he didn't know what to say or do.

He grew up in a similar fashion, his father used to be a noble wolf, his grandfather was the kings second hand, like a Beta in the packs across the other territories that the King did not have reach to.

His father gave up his title to be with his mother, and eventually had him and his siblings. His grandparents where still a part of their life, but his father and mother wanted to make a name for themselves. He grew up on the food that Katie did, but he wanted to be a big time chef since he was little, than a head chef for the royal family since he was 10.

It was refreshing for him to see plain normal food that didn't need to be prepped much or plated to perfection, and it seemed like Will loved it just as much. Course they knew that regular food like that would only go so far in some cases, and during balls and such.

The chef walked in and smelled the fresh scent of cooked eggs. His face relaxed and softened as he noticed that she didn't use a whole lot. He had gotton used to her coming around, the palace had heard of her background, and when it came to her going places or using some utensils that most royals didn't to not be surprised.

In truth, while he usually had an entire team to help him in the kitchen and it became very useful, he liked cooking on his own or with 1 other person in it.

He did notice that she was eating more food than normal, perhaps it was a nervous coping mechanism, his mother was the exact same when it came to some stuff.

Word was going around the castle that his highness had recieved an envelope at their meal and looked like he was gonna blow a fuse. Now what was in it, only his highness and the butler knew. But if it was bother her that much, he could only imagine what would happen if she knew what was actually on the paper that was read, especially if it was as bad as it seemed.

Katie turned and looked towards the Chef. She smiled and held up the pan, "Would you care for some?" She asked.

The chef had never had her cooking, and looking at her, she looked like she needed the company, plus she looked like she made a lot of food.

"I got a little lost in thought just thinking, and made quite a bit of food," She said placing the pan back down.

"Why not," He said walking over.

"Would it be about what his highness had recieved earlier," He asked. She looked down at the pan, feeling a bit embarassed.

"Has word already gone around?" She asked. She started to place the bacon on the other pan since the eggs where almost done. He nodded his head.

"I personally haven't seen him like that, he looked terrifying," She said. The chef chuckled and walked over to the table to set it up a bit.

"The rest of us have in a sense. Not as bad, but when he was looking for you after the ball he was. His highness has been known for being a bit short tempered, but he is very well known for keeping his cool in the presence of others. Well most of the time," The chef sai grabbing the plates.

Katie grabbed some as well and placed the food on it before placing the toast in the toaster and setting them on the table. She inhailed a deep breath of air and wanted to just hide away.

She didn't know what to do. Her mate, her destined love was keeping something, and she didn't know what to do really. She believed that he was keeping it from her for a very good reason, but in the end she just couldn't help but worry and wonder what it was that had gotton him so upset and flustered.

She needed to find the envelope, she needed to find it and see what it had said, even if she didn't like the outcome, even if he had yelled and gotton upset at her, she just had to.

"Guess curiosity killed the cat," She said. The chef looked towards her with a smile as he dished out the food she had prepaired. He noticed some spinich in the eggs, just a bit. He looked her way.

"Sorry, I should have asked if you would like it, my mother used to do it, as did my father," She said looking a bit upset at not mentioning it beforehand.

"My mother did as well, I haven't had something like this in a very long time," He said. She smiled and laughed a bit. The next few moments where between the two of them and discussing family similarities and stories.

Katie enjoyed this, if she was gonna be spending time in the kitchen to ease her worries and such, mine as well get along with the head chef, and find commonalities.

The Chef had to take off to do a grocery run and felt bad that he left her with the dishes. "Please, just leave it for me or the diswasher, we can do it," He said.

"No, its ok. It will help me clear my mind again, and besides, I made the mess," She said. He still looked uncertain and unclear as she rolled up her sleeves and ran the hot water.

He walked out feeling bad, and she just did the dishes. While she was practically a slave in her own home, she was so used to somethings, that they just became a habit and a normal thing for her.

When she was done, she decided to go into Daniel's office. She just needed to know before he burned the note or envelope or anything. The curosity was killing her and she just wanted to understand why he was so upset and what was going on.

She was going to figure it out, no matter what it costed her or the outcome.
