Chapter 2

Daniel POV:
I look at my fathers kingdom. The kingdom I will rule with my mate. If I ever find her. It really is beautiful.

This kingdom he ruled with my mother,before she passed on. Him and I cringe when we think of her.
Her long beautiful red hair,her calming blue eyes. Every day we think of her. And I think what have I done.

I always blamed myself for her death.After I was born she contracted an illness. I blamed myself for it everyday for six years. Then she got worse.

~flashback~(POV)

She sat up looking around at her last images of this life. A tear to her eyes as she looked at her pack. She was proud to have served as the Queen and their Luna.

She search the crowd some more, until her eyes landed on a little boy with dark hair and bright blue eyes like hers.His name was Daniel.

'Daniel,' she called to him. She wished her voice would work,but it was fading away like her.

Her son came up next to her,his eyes as red as her hair from crying.With what she had left of her strength, she held her sons hand.

'Daniel, although I am leaving this world,I will be watching you and your father from another. But you must know that this is not your fault. Please promise me that you won't beat yourself up,' she said.

He looked deep into her eyes and said 'Yes momma.' He then gave her the biggest hug that he could give her.

His father bent down and held his family close one more time as his mate,wife,queen,died in his sons trembling arms.

The funeral was short and everyone mourned. Daniel had gone into a bit of depression for a week. But his father was worse. 3months until Daniel convinced him that his wife was in a better place.

She would be happy and not get hurt. The king smiled at his son. They spent the next 4 years spending some time together,when the king wasn't doing his kingly duties.

When Daniel turned 10 they started doing Alpha training as well as kingly training.

But Daniel would always look at his mothers face in the gardens, and spend time at her grave. Still blaming himself for what happened.

~flashback end~

Daniel POV:
I was just looking out the window, when Dad came into the room.

"Daniel, its time to take some of the pack members out. You need to show that you can be an alpha. Prove it to me," He begged.

"I will soon Dad. I was just looking at moms rose bush and how it compliments the garden," I said.

He smirked and looked at the window.
"Yes. You know she tended that rose bush everyday that she was pregnant with you. I begged her not to. But knowing your mother,she would have thrown me out the window and tended to that rose bush. It has been in our family for 4 generations. Hopefully 5," he told me.

That last part sounded like a whisper, but I herd him.

"Dad. I havent found her yet. And how do you now she would want to tend to it?"

"Every mate we have had so far,has tended the gardens and is kind and shy at times. But is always there for her pack and her people," he said as he walked out.

He was right. Right he was right but I don't know if it was just another thing . I looked at mother a mother's rosebush and wondered if I would ever find my mate. If I would ever find the other half that makes me whole.
