Werewolf Cinderella

Chapter 11

Daniel POV:
It has been several days going around and trying to find her,which I haven't.

I have seen mates in their yards with their families. Children running around,having fun,getting into trouble. I watched as a wife held her newborn in her arms while her mate played with their younger daughter.

I looked down,wishing that I could have something like that. Wishing that my mate would accept me and maybe we could have something like that.

We stopped at the last house. I glanced over to the side of their house. I saw the wall,the one she jumped over and lost her mask.

I knew that she was in this house. I walked up and knocked on the door. I heard a squeal and a bunch of stuff being shifted around. The door then opened and a gust of cool air blew my way.

Then I smelt it,her scent. Although it was faint it was still strong in the household. The mother stood by the door and just stared at me. She invited me in."Your highness,welcome to our home,"She said.

She was nice and kind. Her eyes kept staring at me. So i looked around the house to avoid her gaze. It was a nice house, Then i noticed a picture hidden in the back. While the mother had left I stood and went towards the back where it was hidden. I looked at it. A mother and father holding a baby girl. The mother wasnt obviously the one at this house now. But the mother looked a lot like what I had seen in my mate. The eyes, the hair, and the smile. But if this was the mother, than my mate must have lived in this house. or she still does.And then this mask was hers.

I walked back to my seat and waited. The mother came back into the room with two girls right behind her. My face froze in disappointment. It was the twins from the party,but where was my mate?! I gave them a fake smile as they looked like they where going to go nuts if they kept staring at me. I still had the faint smell of my mate, but there was no one else coming around or down the stairs or anything.

I said goodbye and walked back out. As the horses started to go forward I saw someone jump from one of the top windows of the house."Stop,"I told the gentleman up front.I opened the door and found another girl,one that I hadnt seen in the house before. 

She had her sandy blonde hair in a braid, she wore a white sweater and black skinny jeans with some brown boots. My heart skipped a beat,it was her. But she wasnt looking at me, she was looking up at the window she just jumped out of,then her mouth opened and she started to run.

I got out of the carriage and saw two wolfs go after her. They where both brown with one black spot on them. They looked strong,stronger than her. Then another brown wolf jumped out the window. She was bigger and they all chased after my mate. I wondered why she didnt shift,maybe she didnt have time to. Didnt matter, I needed her.

I shifted and ran off towards where they chased her,hoping I wasnt to late to help her.

Katie POV:

I heard the prince leave,and I walked down the stairs. Ava then looked up at me,she gave me a look. Then she looked at the picture with mom and me when I was born. Then realization hit her and Maggie like a fright train. They shifted and I ran up the stairs to my room. I didnt have time to shift. It took Angela a bit longer to realize it but she figured it out for I heard her wolf trying to ram down my door.

I locked it and opened my window and jumped. I landed feet first and felt  my body collapse for a sec. Then I stood up and looked at the window. They broke through and Ava was the first to jump out. They where going to kill me. I took off running towards the grave. I jumped over the wall and ran towards the tree. But they caught up to me. Maggie jumped and landed on my back pushing me face down and getting off,waiting for Angela. 

I turned around and saw her walking up to me. I tried to move,but Maggie and Ava held me down as I struggled. I tried to move or kick them,but they beat me to it and hit my head. It was total darkness.

Daniel POV:    

 Jason ran as fast as he could to find them,before we would loose them forever. I found the apple tree where her parents where buried. I ran towards it and looked around. I sniffed for her, and there was her scent. I followed it to a area in the woods not to far from the tree. I saw the larger wolf, most likely the mother, stand over her and she looked like she was going for the neck.

The twins just stood by their mother with smirks on their face. I panicked, my mate, she...she wasnt moving. She just layed there like she wanted this to happen. I felt a little tear in my eye, until I saw hers.

They where closed they knocked her out. Jason and I where furious. I have seen girls do stupid stuff for me,but none have ever stooped this low. I got ready to charge, my teeth barred, then I ran and jumped on her. She tried to attack me but I was right on top of  her. The tins where going to attack but wolfs from the palace came and where ready for a fight. All three shifted and where handed some clothes. They where grabbed and handcuffed. The men waited for my orders, but I was to occupied with my mate to worry about them. 

I walked over to her and sat on my hind legs,looking at her. She was breathing but she wasnt moving. I got up and walked over to look at her. I saw dirt covering her and leaves and a couple cuts. I started to tear up. I rested my head on her stomach feeling it go up and down with her breathing. I felt a tear slip and fall on her sweater.

"Why her?Why not one of us? She is just a housemaid. She is nothing special,"One of the twins said. I shifted and put on a pair of jeans and a plaid shirt that the wolfs brought for me, as well as some tennis shoes and socks, plus some underwear. The whole outfit. I turned around and walked over to her. 

She tried to look seductive as I stood in front of her. "She is perfect.She is mine. She is very special. You never saw it cause you made her a housemaid,"I said. I walked away from them.

"She deserved it. She was the one that took everything from us,"She yelled back. The guards took her away as well as her sister and mother. I looked down at my mate, in the grass and dirt. She was still knocked out and she was still breathing. As much as I wanted to take her to the castle and get care for her there, she was too fragile to move to a far place. So i guess her home would have to do.

A wolf came up to me. It was Zach,my longest friend and a guard at the palace. He looked down at her and his eyes went wide. I panicked and thought that they may have been seeing each other. So I decided to ask him a bit about her. but he beat me when he started to talk about her.

"Oh gosh,"He said covering his mouth. "You know her, Zach?" I asked,trying to look surprised. he nodded his head.

"Her name is Katie. I knew her when I was little. Before her mom died,then her dad,"He said. 'Katie'  i thought. 'That name suits her very nicely.'  Zach broke in once more. "What do you want to do,Daniel?"He asked me.

"She will stay here till she wakes, I dont know how extensive the damage is,"I told him. He nodded and took off to tell father that I was staying here. I walked over to her and kneeled. Her hair was a little messy, but it was like a pillow. I reached down and placed my hands behind her knees and on her back.

I picked her up bridal style and walked back to her house. I saw her head moving and her eyelids open. She looked at me, her hazel eyes looking into my blue ones. She blinked a couple times and tried to move out of my grasp,but I wouldnt let her. I finally found her and I wasnt going to let her go again.

"Please let me go,"She asked me. Her voice was the same as when she first talked to me the other night. I wanted to make her happy, but I didnt want her to go, to run away once again. But i did as she asked. I placed her down and she looked like she was going to run off, but her balance was off and she couldnt stand.

She tried to walk a few steps but ended up falling over a bit. I ran over towards her and caught her bridal style. She looked away from me. I frowned and set her back down. She still had trouble standing. She walked a bit and got her balance back. She lost her balance and wrapped her arms around my neck to steady herself. She started walking again and didnt loose her balance for a while.
