POV:
Standing in the center of the room on a pedestal was not how Katie was expecting to spend the rest of her day, maybe.
Her arms where out as the seamstresses where checking the measurements, Lady Arnand was smirking a bit. Katie knew that as soon as she called for help, it would be a mess, oh well.
It seemed like everything was cleared and adjusted now, Katie decided she could handle this. One of the seamstress was reading off measurments that where written down and others where checking. So far almost everything was spot on, the others where just a inch or two off.
The last few measurments where taken, and then they all started to look at the bodace. It was the only part of the dress that was pretty much put together.
2 of the seamstresses looked at it and then started to communicate before snipping a few seams. Katie started to cower a little bit again.
"Now, now, my lady. There is no need for that," Lady Arnand said helping her down from the pedestal. Katie looked up at her, a genuine smile coming about her face. Katie smiled back.
"Truthfully, we mess up here and there just as much," she said. Katie felt a bit better.
"The seams weren't the problem, miss. Just the measurments," One of them said bowing. Katie felt a bit better, Lady Arnand smiled and looked at the seamstresses fixing it up a bit.
Looking around, she noticed the other seamstresses where working on other gowns and projects as well. Katie looked around admiring the work.
One stopped her work and looked at her.
"Sorry, I was just curious and admirring your work," She said. The seamstress nodded and smiled, then showed Katie how to do certain stitches and let her try it on some spare fabric.
Lady Arnand than decided to look through their patterns, seeing if there was any projects coming up, minus the dress, that they needed to finish or start on.
In the pile, one such piece came up that she didn't remember putting in the pile.
"Is something wrong, my lady," a voice said. Turning, she noticed one of her seamstresess seeing her.
"Just this pattern. I don't remember accepting it," She said. The seamstress looked at it and knew the pattern, just not who put it there,
"Your guess is as good as mine. I found it there the other day," she said before getting back to work.
Lady Arnand looked it up and down. It was a complicated piece, way to fancy and frilly for the queen-to-be. However, in a sense, it almost looked like another wedding dress.
While they mainly delt with stuff from the palace, her seamstress team would handle some projects from around the kingdom, usually for nobility. All of them usually had a name on it, but this one just had a general description of a house, er, mansion. She decided to start on it later, figure it out in time.
Daniel POV:
It had been a long day. Will was passed out asleep and soaked. Throughout the day, we had been going throughout the closest town, and while standing on the fountain, he kinda sorta fell in. But in the end, he laughed and took it upon himself to see the best part of the situation.
Walking through the castle, he had finally woken up and took off running to find Katie.
"Woah buddy," I told him grabbing his shirt. I heard him groan and laughed. "We need to dry off and change up clothes before supper," I told him. Looking down, I noticed my clothes had a few wet spots from where he was resting, not that I minded.
"Ok, than can I find her?" he asked with puppy dog eyes. I nodded my head, and he took off for his room, his maid following him laughing.
Walking to my office first, I noticed that it looked cleaner than when I left it, papers in piles, the room looking organized.
I was gonna do it, I swear.....at some point. I freaked and went into one of the books I had on my shelf to find the paper still there. My tension relaxed, I went to my room to get changed. But before I could get a new set of clothes, a pair was left out on my bed. My mind was racing to figure out who would have been there.
The maids had made my bed before I left with Will, who would have been here after the fact. I sniffed around the clothes, seeing if I could figure it out, only to smell my mate.
Katie didn't usually come in here, I turned to look towards my office. Maybe it was her who organized the papers. I changed into a fresh shirt and some jeans. Knowing Katie, she was probably at the table in the kitchen talking with the chef.
I raced down the hallway once I saw Will running out of his room. His maid calling for him.
"I got him," I told her running after. She nodded and probably went back to clean up his room.
But when we ended up in the kitchen, it was just Chef making food. He smiled as he cooked. Katie wasn't any where around. I sat down with Will, and then saw as Katie came down the steps, a smile gracing her face. I noticed her smile and her talking to Will about his day. They seemed so excited, but I was still thinking about my office and room.
"Daniel?" she said. I was brught out of my thoughts, both of their faces looking questiongly.
"Did you by anychance step into my office?" I asked out of the blue. She looked to the side.
"I did," she said.
"I'm sorry, I was just looking for a book, something new, I saw all the papers and just organized them, it bothered me. I swear I only looked at the heading and only really looked at Will's drawings," She said. she looked nervous, like she did something she wasn't supposed too.
"The clothes?"I asked. She tilted her head until she looked at what I was wearing.
"I did," she said.
"I'm not upset. Since you are to be queen, it is only right that you see things," I had said. Now that that was out of my mind, we could finally eat. But while we where I kept noticing Katie, her looks where a bit off. I had seen some of them before, when she was thinking of something, or something seemed off.
I decided to brush it off for a bit, she would tell me when she was ready. As dinner kept going and they where talking, I was in my own little world. In the end, it really was bothering me.
The more I thought about it, as much as I cared for her and knew for a fact she cared for me, it would take a lot until she finally told me what was bothering her.
I decided to discuss things with her once Will was in bed, no need to worry her and watch what we say around him. Not that I was hoping it would be an argument, but we decided never to argu in front of him, at least not really bad ones.
The rest of the day was filled with her talking about her day with the seamstresses and him talking about how fun it was to swim in the fountain a bit. It was nice.
Once he went to bed I waited in the library, I knew for a fact, she loved to read here and there after a rough day. I was right when she came in and noticed my stance.
"Katie, I think we need to talk," I told her. She looked stern and nodded her head in agreement. This was gonna be a rough one, I just knew it.
