Chapter 8

Katie POV:
I looked at him and he gave me a smile. I smiled back,then looked down at the rose my mate gave me. I didnt want him to see what I look like,because he may be embarrassed because of me. I brushed my hair behind my ear.

I kept looking down at the rose he gave me. It matched my dress and mask perfectly.He placed a hand on his mask and pulled it off. Only to revile A man with chocolate brown hair and baby blue eyes. He was handsome then I looked closer and realized that my mate was the Prince. I was a little freaked out,but i stayed calm trying to make sure that nothing happened between us and that he didnt lift up my mask.

He placed his hand on my lower back and I looked away,into the fountain,trying to stay away from him so i dont get in over my head. I placed the rose on the fountains edge. and still looked in at the water. I placed my fingers in the water and twirled them around. I was happy for once in my life.

He turned me around and lifted my head by my chin. He glanced in my eyes for a sec before I pulled away.

He had a frown on his face. He pulled my face up again by my chin once more. I moved away again only this time i stood up and I took the rose with me.

I looked down and saw that he was almost on the verge of tears. I felt that He needed to know who I was. And if he rejected me then I would always remember this special moment. I saw a tear go down his face.

I walked back over to him and knelt down. I lifted his head to my level so I could see all the tears he had started to spread.

I gave him a smile and pulled his head towards mine. I placed a kiss on his lips. I could tell he was shocked and i felt him kiss back for he placed one arm on the small of my back and another behind my neck. Kinda like the sailor and the nurse painting from world war 2.

When I broke it off and looked into his eyes I could tell that he was happy. And that he would love me forever. I stood up and brushed off my dress and held the rose close to me.

He stood up and lifted my chin. His hands then went for my mask. Now was my time to panic!

Daniel POV:

I reached for her mask and was about to pull it up, until I herd a girls voice. I turn only to find those two twins standing and running towards me.

I turn back around to face her, but she was gone. She took off running towards the rose bush maze. I took off after her. The twins where still after me but stopped when I reached the maze entrance. I ran and ran and found her running out the entrance by the ballroom. I rushed over to find her pushing through people and rushing out the door. I ran after her and got caught by a bunch of she wolfs.

I pushed past them and watched her run all throughout the castle. She then found her way through the door and ran out. I pushed past the guards and ran right out of the palace. She started running through the woods. I didnt want to follow,but she wasnt an ordinary girl. She was my mate. She was my other half. I pushed past tree branches and found her by a apple blossom tree. I stayed hidden and listened to her.

"You would have loved the dress Wendy made for me mom. It has roses,your favorite. And i hope you dont mind, but I borrowed your mask. And dad you would have loved seeing the way I danced out there. just like you taught me," she said. I could hear her crying a bit. I wish I was comforting her. Especially since she lost both parents.

She stood up and ran off. I took off after her. She climbed over a wall and saw me coming. She jumped over. But her mask came off. It was her mothers mask apparently, so it was really important to her.

I held it close to my heart and sniffed it. It had her scent. I looked at where she was just moments before. wondering why she took off? why did she leave me? Did she not love me? Was there someone else?
