I raced home in Mom's car just to find out what had been done to my house. I needed to know what had happened but no one took me bloody round! My Mom took me to hers telling me I should eat. I didn't want to eat. I wanted to see the state of my house.
"You should have something," she says. "How about I make you some scrambled egg on toast?"
Yeah do that then I thought if it made her feel better. I didn't really want to eat but I looked at her and nodded and said.. "Yeah. Thanks."
"What about a cup of tea?"
I wouldn't say no to a cup of tea in fact that was the only suggestion that was a good idea. Oh, I could only think of Andy and wanting to be with him. I didn't like to think of him over there by himself. I should be with him!
"Why don't you have a sit down?"
I looked at Mom and then made my way over to the kitchen table. I sat down drank my cup of tea and had my scrambled eggs.
Now, was she taking me?
She only had to mention going on over and I got to my feet. Throwing my hand bag over my shoulder, I jammed my feet into my slip on shoes and headed to the car. I just needed to see Andy. I needed to know he was alright. I should have been taken to see him right away!
I would have happily preferred it if Mom drove faster. When I get to my house, the front door is wide open and I jumped right out. It didn't look off to a good start. I barged in seeing briefly Andy my Dad and my brother in law in the living room, but before I got to the living room and went in there I spotted up the hall that all the contents had been pulled out from underneath the bottom of the stairs, bags and bags and every thing out was blocking the kitchen door and when I set foot into the living room, I saw that the robbers had pulled everything out from my side unit and was sprawled on the carpet. Birthday cards were over the floor, an old English dictionary, old trinkets I'd kept over the years but things like my shoe insoles and things like that were just thrown everywhere.
I was shown my back door and how the back doors had been forced open by someone wielding a fucking crow bar to get in. The top of the door frame had came apart because there was a massive silver thing coming out of it. Surprisingly my laptop wasn't taken which I'd left on the table and nothing was done to my kitchen. I kind of expected plates to be smashed or something like that and from speaking to my Dad and Ricky I realised the police still apparently hadn't come on out from when Ricky called at five o'clock.I thought to run upstairs because I wanted to assess the damage to find out what else they'd done. I got to the top of the stairs and my jewelry box was right there and empty and all the contents out of it but the bits they didn't want was scattered all over the landing. All my gold earrings had gone and all my jewellery had gone from my sixteenth birthday to my twenty-first. Gone. The lot of it!
The main door to my bedroom was wide open and ohh!
I saw part of the state of my room but from what I could see they'd pulled all my clothes out the fucking wardrobes! They'd also emptied drawers and just slung all the contents to the floor but my underwear was in the drawer just everything was messed around but every draw from my side of the bed to my husbands had been yanked open.
I moved from my room to the guest room and the front bedroom had been trashed, and all three big blue bags for charity I had organised they'd basically thrown and emptied it out all over the room, the floor and the bed. My husband saw that the netting in the window had been moved like the robbers had tried to see past the netting to the road. We did think as a family there were two people involved because it was obvious one of them kept watch whilst the other ransacked the place.
I remember going into a draw to see if I still had my jewelry and they'd taken my wedding jewelry the earrings I'd had, the headpiece and my fucking engagement ring. My engagement ring! The ring Mom convinced me to wear purely for special occasions but was the ring Andy had proposed to me with! It was gone! All I had left was the box it came in!
