Ratchet and Clank: The Iron Devil(Discontinued)

Chapter 16

After reaching Umbris, the first thing Ratchet and Clank saw was a large island with a big fortress on it. Still in the air, our heroes could see that there was a road leading to the facility, full of robots, traps, turrets and wild fauna. This sight amazed them.

"I know. It's impressive. It only cost me about 3 million credits, but that's pennies for me," Qwark said, seeing his guests looking at the entire complex.

Few seconds later, the captain landed his ship on one of the small islands, where Ratchet and Clank were dropped off.

"As I told you before. You want me to help you? Then show me what you can do. Reach the fortress and we will discuss terms. Good luck!"

With these words, Qwark left our heroes. They had no intention of wasting time and immediately started going through the first stage of the training course.

Hovering walls above the lava lake.

"Yikes. I wouldn't want to end up as a roast." Ratchet commented, looking at the magma.

"I agree with it. So how do we get to the other side?" Clank asked.

Lombax look at this obstacle and chuckle slightly. This reminded him of his time with his aunt, Skorri. Despite being a "mage" of the order, she always said that good mobility can give many benefits. That's why she teach Ratchet things like wall run, climbing or parkour. 

Remembering how to do this, Ratchet grab Clank, place him on his back and start runnig towards wall.

"What are you doing?!"- asked worried Clank.

"Trust me, buddy. I know what I'm doing."

After this words, our furry hero jump on nearby wall and start running on it. When he felt that he was losing momentum, he jumped to the opposite wall and continue running. Few second later both of them were on a other side of the lake.

"Phew. That was easy. Hardly build up a sweat."- comment Ratchet.

"Next time please inform me of such...activities."- said Clank.

"No promises."

Going further on the path, they encounter another obstacle- a path full of traps, various types of turrets and guard robots.

"Do you...do you think Qwark wants to kill us?" Ratchet asked innocently, seeing all this.

Clank just shrugged in response.

Without any other options, Ratchet started going forward, eliminating any enemies he meet. The mines and turrets gave Lombax slightly challenge, but he managed to reach an entrance to the fortress. He also managed to find a large Golden Bolts on his way here.

"Huh. I wonder how much it's worth?" Lombax asked.

"From what I found on the holonet, these are Golden Bolts. They are worth a fortune if you collect all of them across the galaxy. There are even theories about a room with golden weapons that can be opened only by those." Clank replied.

"Ugh! The thought of returning to previously visited planets immediately demotivates me, but I'll keep it as a souvenir."

After that Ratchet reached the door to quarters and opened it. When he did this, he was welcomed by a robot guards, who without hesitation they started firing. Our hero make quick dash and hide behind acover

" What now?" asked the silver bot.

"Good question, buddy," the 18-year-old replied. Then he peeked out slightly and quickly hid, miraculously avoiding being hit. He then thought about what to do in their current situation.
