Chapter 25

After a few days full of preparations and planning, Ratchet and the Noble Team went to the planet Quartu, where Drek and the Blargs have their main robot factory. Now under the "employment" of the Vanguard our dear Lombax received several additional gear, like weapons or gadgets. Additionally, and this was taken care of by Cayde and Ikora, the young man did not receive a bomb implant in his neck, even though there is official documentation of it.

When our heroes reached Quartu, the first thing they saw was a huge black fortress. This is the factory they are supposed to destroy. Wanting to avoid detection, they landed at the foot of the structure, just behind large rocks. Our heroes quickly got out of the vehicle and this time it wasn't just the six of them.

"Maya, scan the area. Check if anyone is lurking around," Vincent ordered.

"You got it, V. Drones out."

Maya Neil is a female Exo, with an orange-brown frame and green eyes. She wears yellow medium combat armor with many technological features, like PDA or shoulder rocket launcher. Unlike the other members of the team, Noble Five is not a Light user, but an ordinary girl who transferred her consciousness into a robot body. She acts as a mediator in her team, as her friends are not the best at communicating with ordinary civilians.

After a few minutes, Maya's drones returned to her and gave her information. Mike also returned from his scouting trip. Information from both of them allowed Vincent to create a more accurate picture of their operation zone.

"Okay... so a frontal attack is out of the question, because these bastards have Anti-Magic transmitters, and climbing the rocks would result in being cut off by force fields. Both are bad options." said Noble team leader.

"What about that little center at the foot of the factory? The drones saw some scientist there. Maybe he'll know how to get in," Don suggested.

Having no better idea, Vincent agreed to this and then went with everyone else to the said facility. Along the way, they encountered several Blarg patrols, but dealt with them quickly and quietly. After a few minutes, they arrived and saw the scientist in question.

Everyone was surprised when they saw the man, but Ratchet was the most surprised. Here in front of him stands a human male with blue skin, blue, slightly dirty robes with gold trim, with a lot of gold jewelry on his body and with black, slightly gray, long dreadlocks, which also have gold jewelry on them.

The scientist was just standing over the table and writing something in his notebook. He was so absorbed in this that he didn't even hear someone enter his studio. However, our heroes did not have time and decided to make their presence known. Ratchet then walked up to the man and placed his hand on the man's shoulder.

Suddenly, the entire world around Lombax and the scientist changed to a more gray-blue color, and time stopped. Only the two of them moved normally.

"Hello, Void Child. I haven't seen one of your kind in a long time."

Ratchet looked at the man and saw that he had stopped writing and was looking at him with his bright blue eyes while having a smile on his face.

"You know who I am?" asked Lombax.

In response, the scientist laughed lightly and left the table, heading towards the nearby wall. The man touched it and the whole room changed. The dirty, yellow walls disappeared and in their place were clean, white ones. The equipment that was here also became more elegant, as if it were made of ceramics. What is interesting is that in different parts of the room there were mirrors, each of a different size, width and thickness.

"What the hell?" Ratchet asked.

"Welcome to my workshop, Child. Make yourself comfortable. Here you are safe from HIS sight," the man replied.
