Jimin responded with determination, "We must locate Krystal's father as quickly as possible. If you need any assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'll also call Lisa and Namjoon for additional support. The more hands we have, the better."
Taehyung was deeply grateful. "Thank you, President Park."
This time, Taemin had been exceedingly cautious, making it nearly impossible to track him down. Krystal felt a sense of hopelessness washing over her.
As she changed her shoes, her mother noticed and inquired, "Krystal, where are you going?"
Krystal met her mother's gaze and replied with a smile, "I just want to take a stroll, Mom, nothing more."
Her mother seemed concerned. "You're not going to look for Taemin, are you? Please don't."
Krystal assured her, "No, Mom, I won't. I'm just feeling a bit bored and thought a walk might help."
In truth, she was not being entirely honest. Krystal got into her car and eventually arrived at the Lee Company's lobby. She called Taemin, informing him, "I'm downstairs."
A short while later, Taemin descended and took a seat in her car. "What is it?" he asked.
Krystal remained silent as she drove. After a while, she turned her head to face Taemin and asked, "Lee Taemin, where have you taken my father?"
He glanced at her and replied, "Park Jimin is helping you find him, isn't he? So he can't locate him?"
Krystal didn't respond directly. Instead, she stated, "I want to see him."
Taemin countered, "Will you give birth to my child if you meet him? You have only two choices. I won't force you."
Krystal let out a bitter laugh. "You won't force me? That's a joke, right? You're not forcing me? You've already pushed me into a dead end."
Taemin remained silent, his expression unreadable.
"Do you remember when you said that your mother chose to die together with your dad when she found out he had an affair?" Krystal's words struck Taemin, making him sit up and narrow his eyes at her. "What do you mean?" he asked.
Krystal turned her head to look at him directly. "Lee Taemin, I think your mother made a wise choice. If you hate someone so much that you wish they were dead, sometimes it's better to die with them."
Suddenly, realization dawned on Taemin, and he noticed a large truck in front of them. Krystal's smile sent a chill down his spine.
Taemin snapped back to reality, desperately trying to regain control of the steering wheel. But Krystal had already released it, wearing a smile of determination.
"What's the point of controlling the steering wheel," she said calmly, "if there's a problem with the brakes?"
Taemin's frantic attempts to steer the car proved futile as it continued straight toward the van, resulting in a deafening crash. In that moment, Krystal felt no pain, only sorrow for her parents and regret for disappointing Taehyung's love. She couldn't endure this torment any longer.
Gradually, her body succumbed to the pain, and she lost consciousness. Taemin struggled to sit up and reach out to her, but he too was overwhelmed by powerlessness. In the end, he too slipped into unconsciousness.
Y/N received a call from Krystal's mother while she was at home with Joon Min. After the call, she quickly asked Auntie Wang to take care of Joon Min and rushed to the hospital.
She was the third person to arrive, finding Krystal's mother and Taehyung waiting anxiously outside the operating room. Y/N handed Krystal's mother a tissue, who took it while keeping a close watch on the door, her eyes filled with tears.
Y/N turned to Taehyung, her voice filled with concern, "How's her condition now?"
"We don't know yet," Taehyung replied in a hoarse voice. "This might have happened because Krystal felt so pressured by Taemin's threats that she resorted to something as dangerous as this. She seemed willing to risk it all."
Y/N sat beside Krystal's mother, offering comfort as she patted her shoulder gently. "Auntie, don't cry. Krystal will be okay."
Krystal's mother spoke between sobs, "She's so foolish, trying to end her life alongside Taemin. She's too naive. If something happens to her, what will we do? Her father and I only have one child..."
Y/N felt deep sympathy for her and continued to rub her hand soothingly. "She will be fine."
Soon, everyone else arrived at the hospital, including Jimin, Jungkook, and Lisa. Krystal had been in the operating room for some time when the door finally opened. Krystal's mother stepped forward and anxiously asked the doctor, "Doctor, how's my daughter?"
The doctor looked at her with a reassuring smile. "She's not in critical condition. She has some injuries to her legs and arms, but she's out of surgery now. You can all breathe a sigh of relief." Hearing the doctor's update, a wave of relief washed over everyone present.
Krystal was transferred to a patient room, and her mother kept a watchful eye on her only daughter. Suddenly, her mother remembered something and inquired, "Oh right, how's the baby inside her womb?"
"The baby is fine, Mrs. Jung," the doctor reassured her.
Her mother's face turned pale. At this moment, she truly wished the baby was no longer there. After all, Krystal didn't want this child.
Krystal woke up in the middle of the night, finding her mother by her side.
"Krystal, how are you feeling now?" her mother asked with concern.
Krystal gazed at the ceiling and took a deep breath. She realized she was still alive and hadn't succeeded in her attempt.
In truth, there had been nothing wrong with the brakes. She hadn't tampered with them. She had just wanted to end her life alongside Taemin, hoping that with his death, everyone else could enjoy their lives.
Krystal tightly gripped her mother's hand and anxiously asked, "What about Lee Taemin? Is he dead?"
