I had been in the loft of the barn with Jaxx while we watched movies all night, we didn't talk about me leaving but I could see the questions in his eyes and I knew that he would be sad when I left since we are childhood friends and told each other everything.
Jaxx: will you come visit?
Kaia: I will always visit on holidays. You should come with me.
Jaxx: I would love to but I can't leave my mother.
Kaia: will you come visit me?
Jaxx: of course but where will you stay?
Kaia: I will stay on campus of course, I will have my own dorm room and won't share it with anyone.
We decided to watch the sun come up after we got tired of watching movies. I rested my head on his shoulder while the sun peaked from over the mountains.
Kaia: I wish I didn't have to leave in an hour, I'm going to miss you...
Jaxx: I'm going to miss you too...
I stood up and put the movies away along with the television when I felt him gently grab my hand.
Jaxx: there is something I want you to have before you leave.
I watched as he put a ring on my index finger, I looked at it carefully before looking at him.
Kaia: it's beautiful Jaxx...
Jaxx: I want you to keep it so you will always remember me.
Kaia: I will never forget about you.
We stood there in silence while looking into each other's eyes when I heard my dad calling me.
Kaia: time for me to go...
He didn't say anything instead he kissed me on my lips.
Jaxx: take care of yourself out there Kaia.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back.
Kaia: take care of yourself Jaxx.
I walked away from him and headed to where my parents were standing and hugged them both before I left home.
