letter from home

It's been sis month since I left home and I finally got a decent paying job at a restaurant not from where I live. I moved to L.A so I could be closer to home but I had no plans on visit just so I didn't have to see Jaxx that was until I received a letter in the mail from my parents. They informed me that I was needed for something but they didn't say what it was about. I asked my uncle if he knew what was going on but he hadn't been told anything about me needing to return home. My boss was kind enough to let me take off to see what was going on and when I got there, I couldn't help the place looked abandoned.

I walked through the house my parents but seen no sign of life but the memories flooded my mind, the animals were no longer in the barn and my cabin along with the guest house had been completely demolished. I walked back to the house my parents stayed and searched for answers as to why this happened.

I couldn't find anything that explained what happened here and was about to leave when I heard something break underneath my shoe, I looked down and saw a picture of Jaxx and I when we were kids, I was about to walk back outside when I heard galloping from a horse, my heart began racing after I picked up a knife that was on the counter and held the blade to his throat refusing to back down...

Jaxx: you shouldn't have returned...

Kaia: where are my parents?

Jaxx: I will take you to them after you move the blade from my neck.

I moved it away from his throat and waited for him to take me to my parents but I knew my truck wouldn't make it over the mountain so I locked it before getting behind him after he helped me climb on, I held onto his waist while we headed to the camp which wasn't where I remembered it being as we reached a small cabin that had been built near a river.

Jaxx: they're inside the cabin...

I got off the horse and walked inside, seeing them made me relieved. I walked over to them and hugged them both.

Kaia: I'm glad you're both safe... what happened?

Salem: a storm destroyed the place.

Kaia: I was afraid something was wrong, I got the letter you wrote.

Garrett: what letter? We never sent a letter.

Kaia: someone sent me a letter asking me to come home but when I got here Jaxx he...

Salem: Jaxx brought you here?

Kaia: well yeah, he told me that you two were here...

Garrett: that's impossible...

Kaia: I couldn't get here any other way, my truck couldn't make it over the mountain...

Salem: sit down Kaia...

I did as she instructed and she did the same...

Salem: there's no easy way to tell you this but Jaxx he...

Garrett: you shouldn't tell her what happened, the scouts are looking as we speak...

Salem: she deserves to know Garrett...

Kaia: what happened mom?

Salem: Jaxx disappeared six months ago...

I broke down and felt my mom pull me close to her while I cried...

Kaia: where could he have went? I need to find him...

Garrett: he mentioned going hunting but he never returned that night and I refuse to let the same thing happen to you since you haven't tracked anything since you were fourteen.

Kaia: I can do this dad, I need to find him and bring him home...

Salem: I believe she can do it.

Kaia: I had an argument with him last time I was here, I need to do this dad please...

Garrett: if you truly want to do this, you need the proper tools and not the things you have on you now...

Kaia: I will do it...

I watched as he walked over to a chest that was behind him and I watched as he handed me a outfit made from the skin of a animal, I had my mother help me put it on me and he gave me arrows and a bow, an axe and Buffalo fur before I left, he saddled up a horse and I gave them a hug and reassured them that I would return with him soon.

Garrett: be careful out there my daughter.

I rode away quickly with no sense of direction but I knew in my heart that I would find him.
