Kaia
After months of consideration and discussing it with my parents, I made the switch to a college in New York. I wasn't going to be staying on campus but with the help of my dad and uncle Andy I found me a suitable place that wasn't far from the school that they bought for me.
I thanked them both for helping me get the place before uncle Andy left, I knew it was going to be quiet besides hearing the traffic but it was worth having my privacy that was until I met Sofi, she was pursuing the same career as I was and we become friends instantly. We hung out almost everyday and one night she got to meet Jaxx over the video call, I could tell something was bothering him but he didn't want to be rude to Sofi.
Kaia: Sofi, can I speak with Jaxx alone please?
Sofi: sure, I will see you tomorrow in class. It was nice meeting you Jaxx.
Jaxx: nice meeting you too Sofi.
I watched as she walked out the door and I waited five minutes before I locked it while I talked with Jaxx...
Kaia: what's wrong Jaxx?
Jaxx: nothing, I...
Kaia: I've known you long to tell when you're upset, please tell me...
Jaxx: I just miss you that's all...
Kaia: so come visit me...
Jaxx: I don't have the funds to get there Kaia and I can't ride a horse there.
Kaia: I mean you could but the horse and you will get exhausted and hungry.
Jaxx: you see my frustration, when are you coming home?
Kaia: it's almost Thanksgiving, I will be there a week before since everyone is taking the rest of the year off after Halloween.
Jaxx: I hope to see you sooner than that...
Kaia: I can't promise anything Jaxx I...
As I was about to finish what I was going to say, I heard a knock on the door...
Kaia: hold on Jaxx, someone's at the door. I'll be right back.
I walked to the door and looked through the peephole and seen Sofi standing there, I unlocked it and let her inside only to notice the panicked look on her face.
Kaia: Sofi, what's wrong?
Sofi: I was heading toward the elevator and some guy started following me so I circled around and headed here, I think I lost him. Can I stay here tonight?
Kaia: yeah, sure...
I quickly locked the door back and finished talking with Jaxx before I went to bed.
Kaia: good night Jaxx...
Jaxx: good night Kaia. I love you
Kaia: love you too...
I ended the call and closed the laptop before putting it away.
Sofi: Jaxx seems nice, how long have you two been dating?
Kaia: we actually aren't dating, we've been friends since we were kids and being away from home sucks cause that's the only time we get to spend with each other.
Sofi: you should go visit more often if you miss him that much
Kaia: I wish I could but it will be harder for me to leave when I do go visit home for the holidays...
Sofi: it sounds to me like you love him...
Kaia: of course I love him, he's my best friend.
Sofi: so why haven't you done anything about it?
Kaia: because we're far away from each other and I don't want to ruin our friendship, he probably has a girlfriend at the reservation...
Sofi: reservation...?
Kaia: yeah he's full blooded Blackfoot.
Sofi: I never noticed he was indigenous, are you--never mind...
Kaia: it's okay, you can say it Sofi.
Sofi: I don't want to come off as rude...
Kaia: just say it, I won't be upset...
Sofi: are you okay with being friends with him since he is indigenous?
Kaia: of course, we have the same ethnic culture.
Sofi: oh okay, I never realized you were since you don't have dark skin like him.
Kaia: that's because my mom isn't of the same people, she met my father when she was my age while staying at the ranch.
Sofi: your life seems so interesting, can I visit this ranch with you?
Kaia: of course, I will have to introduce to my Na'a and Nin na
Sofi: introduce me to your what?
Kaia: my mom and dad
Sofi: right, you got to remember I don't speak the same language as you.
Kaia: sorry...
