Jaxx

I woke up seeing a cloud of smoke drifting through the top of the teepee and didn't remember how I got here when I felt a burning sensation on my leg and arm. I slowly sat up and seen Dyani treating my wounds...

Jaxx: how did I get here?

Dyani: she went looking for you after her mother told her what happened to you...

I didn't know who she was talking about until I looked over and seen Kaia sleeping on the other side of the fire.

Jaxx: how long has she been here?

Dyani: almost a month, you're lucky to have someone as special as she is in your life. she's the reason you're here now. It took her a few weeks to find you.

I laid back down while I waited for her to leave which she did in a hurry and I threw a small pebble at Kaia and watched her wake up.

Jaxx: hey sleepy head...

Kaia: you should be resting.

Jaxx: I know but I didn't want to miss you before you left again.

Kaia: I won't be leaving for another two weeks.

Jaxx: what about your life in the city?

Kaia: I already have things taken care of, get some rest...

Jaxx: well can I at least get a hug...?

Kaia: I didn't come back to show you affection, you're lucky I volunteered to bring you home.

Jaxx: for the record I was fine where you found me...

Kaia: yet you have a bad wound on your leg and arm, just thank me and go to sleep.

Jaxx: I didn't need you looking for me...

Kaia: someone needed to, your mother was worried sick about you. You should have hunted closer to the camp.

Jaxx: why did you bother coming anyway?

Kaia: if you must know it's because of a letter I received from someone here even though nobody has told me who sent it...

Jaxx: you shouldn't have come back...

Kaia: if you're going to lay there being mad at me for risking my neck for you, I will go back to the city instead of choosing to stay here looking after you.

Jaxx: I don't want you here, just go home!

Kaia: fine I will leave, I hope you recover from your wounds.

I watched as she quickly stormed out as I called out to her.

Jaxx: Kaia wait!

I knew that it was too late and that I probably wouldn't see her again and I hated that I couldn't get up to go after her and thank her for finding me and bringing me back here.
