Aly's POV

It was almost eleven o'clock and Demi was downstairs.

She said she had to "take care of something" and would be back here before I'd fall asleep, what was mostly at one am.

I really hoped the guy from this morning wasn't scared away by Demi's threat.

I quickly made a ponytail and headed downstairs.

It had taken me three hours the other day to find out where the damn stairs was, imagine how big this building is, but I did it all by myself.

I walked downstairs, since my room, that's how I call it now, is on the third floor.

After looking for the right directions, I saw doubledoors wideopen what let you have a wonderful sight of the library.

It just looked like a normal library, just as big, maybe even bigger. Only the books here were much older and probably weren't about math or English.

'Miss Roberts, you came?' The guy walked over to me. (Imagine the guy like in the pic)

I walked inside and while I walked past the people, who were already there, they bowed to me.

The guy just walked further next to me.

'Aren't we suppose to bow back?'

A smile crept on his face.

'No darling, they're bowing for you.'

'For me? Why?'

A lady walked over to us and gave us some tea.

'Thank you, miss.' I said as she handed us two cups.

'You're welcome, miss Roberts.' She quickly went back to the other ladies and I heard them talking about how I just said thank you to her and how honored she felt right now.

The guy was sitting on the other side of the table, grinning while I looked confused at the ladies.

'You're famous.'

'Yeah, I feel like Harry Potter now.'

He giggled and I smiled at him.

'What's your name, actually?'

'Evan, he said. 'Evan Daniëls.'

I nodded. 'So, Evan, can you please tell me what the fuck has happened because Demi won't tell me a single thing.'

He seemed surprised by my choice of words, but smiled and started talking.

'I told you, this morning, that we're living in a magic world, right?'

I nodded and I looked how he painted a cirkel on the table with his index finger. He must be a witch where Demi was talking about.

Well, look, we have the vampires, they are "the bosses" of this world. No matter how strong you are as a witch or a werewolf, when you're fighting against a vampire, you'll lose.'

He wrote vampire in the top op the circle. Followed by witches, then werewolves. I assumed this was their rank.

'So, the vampires rule this world then?'

He shook his head. 'No, and that's what makes you so special.' He pointed at me.

'On top of all these creatures, we have the Royals.' He wrote down Royals on top of the circle.

'We are all named after the one we come from. In my case, Daniël. I'm Evan Daniëls.'

I nodded. Okay, that was logical.

'They can be really dangerous when you have them against you, but when you have them on your side, they'll be protecting you like your one of their own. In other words, when you're living with a Royal on your side, you're the safest person on this whole planet.'

He looked at me. Maybe I was just really dumb but I still didn't get it.

'So, who are the Royals then?'

He wrote down five names.

Thomas

Peter

Daniël

Nicholas

Demetria

He drew circles around Demetria.

'Demi?!' I asked, way too loud because everyone was staring at us now. Well, actually they were doing that the whole time, but now it was just worse.

He nodded. 'But still, what does have to do with me? I'm not a vampire, I'm not a witch, nor a werewolf. I don't see why everyone acts so obsessed with me while I'm just a human and they are all magical beings.'

He smiled at me. 'You, Aly Roberts, are the girl everyone's been waiting for since centuries. We have these stories we tell our children when they grow up about the last Royal girl. The girl every girl wants to be. The perfect Princess with the long brown hair, the pale white skin, the bright brown eyes and the soft red lips, the high cheekbones which make her red rose cheeks perfect and her cute little nose what makes her look perfect in every possible way.'

I was fascinated by him telling me about the Royal girl.

'This girl is you.' He opened a book, I had no idea where the hell that thing just came from but okay there was this book, and showed me some paintings and drawings.

My mouth fell open.

'Oh. My. God.'

I looked at the pictures in front of me.

These were drawings of me one of me reading a book, another one sleeping with my head on someones chest, I guess Demi's and one with me holding Demi's hand while wearing a beautiful dress on the beach.

'How do you guys knew I exist now? Or are there more of me? Like some sort of doppelgänger?'

He laughed quietly like I just said something really dumb. 'No, there are no doppelgängers. You're the girl that completes the Royals. You're the most important member of them. That's why everybody knows your name. That's why everybody bowes for you. Long before you were born they knew about you. And now that they have you, they won't lose you. Ever.'

I looked at him. 'So? Are they gonna make me a vampire too then?!' Maybe I sounded a bit too enthusiastic.

'No.'

I got disappointed immediately.

'It's special with you. You know why they got you now? Now you're seventeen? Because when you're turning eighteen you're turning into a vampire, a witch and a werewolf. You're a Royal, you're gonna be all of them.'

'Bu-but what if I can't....'

'That's why all of them are there. They'll help you with everything. And if they can't, what haven't happened since they exist, there is a whole world with you who wants nothing more than keep their Royal girl safe.'

He paused for a moment.

'You're like our queen. You're more powerful than you think.'

I smiled at him.

'Can I have that book?'

He handed me the book.

'Here, if you have any questions don't doubt to ask.'

He wrote me an adress. 'That's where I live. It's not too far away from here.'

I took the paper from him and gave him a hug.

'Thank you so much. And I'll contact you if I need you again. You've helped me really much.'

'You're welcome, but you should go back. I can hear Demi saying her goodbyes.'

I nodded and put the book in my back, with the paper with his address on it too.

'Good night then, witch.'

He giggled at my little bit childish move.

'Sleep well, Aly.'

I quickly left the library and headed upstairs.
