Aly's POV

I woke up to a loud noise coming from downstairs.

I lifted my head and saw Demi staring at me amusingly.

"What?" I asked. "You heard that too?"

"It's Nick. He's being a bit stressed. He'll be fine, don't worry."

I just nodded and sat down next to her.

"What's going on, Demi? I know there's something, but no one seems to wanna tell me."

"It's about the vampires. Avery told me about the attacks. I thought a warning would be enough, seems I was wrong."

I looked up at her. "What are they doing?"

"They've been killing way too many innocent people. We need to stop them."

"But how?"

"Nick and I are taking our people with us to Mexico, where they live. Most of them will probably give in immediately when they see us, others will have to be killed to be stopped."

I swallowed. "Your people? Who are those?"

"All Royals have dozens of people who are very close to us. Not only vampires, also witches and werewolves. They are like family, they're there whenever they're needed."

"So how long will that take?"

"Just five days. We planned everything out already. There's no chance of failure, we're too strong."

I nodded. "When will you be leaving?"

"Tomorrow, then I'll be home by the end of the week."

I looked at her. "Just stay safe, please. I don't think I can survive without you."

She smiled. "I will, I promise. Just do me a favor and stay out of trouble while I'm gone."

I giggled. "Like always, ma'am."

Demi raised an eyebrow, but then kissed my lips. "Good girl. I love you."

It was really cold outside as I looked at Demi getting into her car.

"I'll be back before you'll even notice I left."

"Yeah sure. Just do what you have to and then come back to me."

She nodded. "I will. See you soon."

"Good luck, Dem."

She turned to me and blew me a kiss.

I caught it with my hand and put it in my pocket.

She giggled and shook her head.

Then the car was gone and I was left alone.

Five days and there was nothing I could do.

I decided to go to the library and meet Evan.

Of course he was there. I doubt if he has a home or just lives here.
