Aly's POV

Seventeen days has past by since I first got here.

Sixteen days since I had seen my friends dead.

Fifteen days since I got the book from Evan.

Fourteen days since I met Nicholas, better known as Nick.

He's Demi's best friend and also her vampire-sex-buddy, but I'm not allowed to call him that way.

But he is nice, and he comes here so now and then to chill with Demi or kill together in the woods.

I always stay here and spend my time with Evan or just outside alone, enjoying the view of the woods. Sometimes writing stories, while most of them were my own memories.

Even though I have no school, I still haven't started reading the book.

But now I will.

The last few days I had spend my time mostly sleeping, which I had no problem with at all.

But I think I should spend my time more efficiently, like by reading the book.

It was a big old brown book, which looked pretty cool actually.

Demi sat in her study, just like Nick, and I decided to go sit with her.

I grabbed the book and found my way to the study.

It was on the first floor, but it was on it had its own section, separated from the rest by a platform with a stairs of like three steps.

She was still a little mad at me because I didn't tell her about my growing envy for food and my growing need for sleep, even though I didn't do a fuck every day, I was tired like hell in the evening. I don't even know if she was more disappointed with me not telling her, or her not noticing it before.

And after our little fight yesterday about that, when I may have called her a mean bitch, we haven't said a word to each other since.

I was mad at her, but all I wanted right now was being with her.

I wanted her to hold me, to wrap her arms around me protectively like she used to in bed when I was scared.

I wanted her to kiss my lips like no one else could.

All I wanted right now was her with me.

But too bad my ego was too big to say sorry first.

She started the fight, not me.

Maybe I started the swearing, but if she didn't start about my different behavior, it wouldn't have happened.

I already had a headache from the warmth. I didn't know if that was normal, but if it wasn't, Demi would have noticed.

Already in my night clothes, which consisted of Demi's loosely tank top and a short, I climbed on Demi's lap.

She looked at me, her eyes staring over the magazine she was reading, while I made myself comfortable.

I avoided eye contact and opened the book.

'Wasn't I the mean bitch?' She asked me, while she was reading the magazine again.

I did exactly the same as she just did. Not looking up from my book I answered her. 'Not if you let me stay here.'

She didn't say anything for a while, but then looked at the book I was reading in.

'What's that?' She asked as she put her magazine away.

'A book.'

I heard Nick giggle and saw him shaking his head slowly.
