Twenty-seven

Two months have passed and we were still keeping score.

Alex was suspended for the rest of the week because of his underwear move. Jason was getting glares from Salaim every time we passed her office. She should have known better than to flirt with Daniel like that in front of me. Lucie was getting nervous about hooking up with Mr. Bronalski.

"But he's so strong and big. How am I-.."

"Are you sure you want to do this? It's just some stupid game you know? Not every crush means sex."

She nodded.

"I mean, walking in your underwear doesn't even come close to doing that." I added. I felt bad she was scared. After all, this was just a game.

"You're right. I'm already freaking out and I haven't even seen him today. It will mean you'll have to make sure they fire Mr. Diynarc, you know? We made the rules with blood and magic and I really don't want to get you into any trouble."

"I figured. But if it means you'll still be fine at the end of the day, I'll do it."

"Thanks. So how are you planning on doing it?"

"I'm trying not to get myself into too much trouble so I'll figure out a way." At least, that was what I kept telling myself.

Lucie didn't seem to buy much of it but let it go for now. "Let's go to Mr. Aricson. His class is about to start soon."

"Ms. Delabruere?" I asked, softly.

"Miss Lamberts", she almost yelled at me. "You set the class room on fire." She looked furious. Calmer now, but still furious.

"Headmistress, I apologize. I'll make sure there won't be any damage. If only I-.."

"IF ONLY you would keep quiet now. Do I need to inform the Royals about this?"

I quickly shook my head. I had asked Alex to help me try to get the attention of Mr. Diynarc, not to suspend me, that idiot.

She frowned at me.

"No, Ma'am."

"I won't inform them this time. Next time however, I will."

"I understand. Thank you."

"Now, I'll have to come up with a suitable punishment myself."

Suddenly we were in my room.

"You will return to your room immediately after dinner."

I tried to say something but she hushed me before I could.

"And to make sure that you will do as I say, I'll put a spell on you so I can see your location. I will check up on you whenever I need to. It'll be for three weeks, every time I do not find you here, will add another week to that. Am I clear?"

I was overwhelmed by her stern voice.

"Yes."

"Good, now have a good night sleep. I know your lessons with Mr. Aricson are starting to pay off."

Before I could say anything she had already left.

"Two more weeks? With this beautiful weather?"

"I know, Lucie. But she has this invisible ankle monitor put on me. She knows where I am!"

"Can't you ask the Royals to remove it?"

"They'll ask how I got it."

"And you can't just lie?"
