(Feel free to skip this part, it's nothing important. Just me being the sociable person I am, jk.)
Heeyy, first of all, thanks for all the votes so far! I saw my story reached 2K readers last weekend, I'm so happy. I'm almost done with my exams, still four to go the next two days. Management, math and history went pretty well. I fucked up my German test, but that's nothing special really. And today I had economy, but ok, let's not talk about that. Tomorrow I have Latin and sociology, so I'm working my ass of (again). And I'll end my exams with philosophy and English.. I hope you're all enjoying the nice weather. Why is the weather always on its best when I have to study?? I'm sorry, I'll stop complaining, lol. Here's the new chapter. Hope you guys love it. Xxx
Aly's POV
Demi and I had been practicing all day and it went pretty well, actually.
"Just try one more time", she said as she showed me once more how to break a window. The glass fell all over the floor, but after another movement with her hand, it was just like it was before.
"It just seems so easy when you do it. It's not fair." I said.
Demi giggled. "Oh, sweetheart. You should know how many times my mother had to help me. I was so clumsy, once when I tried to light the candles, I set the house on fire by accident."
I smiled at the idea of a little Demi freaking out because she put some house on fire, instead of a candle.
"And look at me now. One of the most powerful people in the world, young lady. Which teaches you", she pointed at me, "to never give up. Ever."
"But I don't know if I can do that. For some reason everyone expects me to be some powerful witch, but I don't even know how to use the simplest spells. What if I can't do it, Demi? Then they've waited all these centuries for nothing."
Demi giggled. "You're not nothing, love. And you won't fail. It's in your blood. Literally, your mother gave you all her powers. They'll work when you turn eighteen. Until then, we can practice some basic stuff for fun. But don't forget, you can't fight what's inside of you. You need to learn to deal with it, Isabelle always said. When your body tells you to stop using your magic, you should. No one can take it from you, but your body can decide to just not take it anymore. You need to take care of your body with love, then your power will be the strongest."
I swallowed. That's exactly what she told me. It was a warning, it must have been. "So don't overuse it, I get it. I'll just keep the book with me to study, okay?"
Demi nodded then sat down on the couch. I sat down next to her.
A few more times I tried to break the window, but I failed. "Seriously, if that stupid glass won't break now, I'm gonna throw a freaking stone at it." I made the movement with my right hand and mumbled the spell with some anger in my voice and finally, finally the glass broke. "Demi look! It's broken! I broke the window!"
I heard her giggling next to me. "I'm really proud of you. You see, practice makes it all better. You just need to believe in yourself." She smiled at me and quickly let the window reappear before I froze into an ice statue.
I shove my body closely against hers. "How can you always be so hot?" I asked. "I mean, your temperature."
She giggled. "It depends on the weather, actually. When it's cold outside, my body warms up. But in summer, I'm stone cold."
"I don't like the cold. I wanna be outside in shorts and a Tee, swimming in the Ocean, tanning at the beach."
"I'd love that too. We should go to the California next month. You'll turn eighteen. I guess that's the perfect time for you to meet the others of the Royal family."
I swallowed. "California? That's on the other side of America. I've never left New York in my life."
Demi giggled. "Once will have to be the first time. We're going, it'll be great!"
I sighed. "Just so you know, if they don't like me, I blame you. This idea is all yours."
Demi now laid on top of me on the couch, let me kissing her lips.
"Make you seem likeable, I'll see that as a challenge. Lucky for me, I know every spell."
