"H-How did you... What are you..." I stuttered.

"Did you really think we wouldn't find you?"

I was not in the mood for this. I was so tired all I could think about was taking a nice, long nap. "What is it with you people? It's really annoying me too much. All girls want to be me, but I can't even decide where I can be myself."

"Your life is just so hard. I'm very sorry for you."
He was still laying on the bed observing me.

"Nick", I sighed. "What is all this?"

"Our world, Al. Is it that much of a disappointment?"

I decided to lay down next to him. I covered myself with the sheets as I felt his arm around my neck.

"Now that our bond's finally gone, I sometimes do not even recognize Demi. First I felt like I loved her, like she was family, like she saw no harm in me. She was all nice and sweet with me, I trusted her with everything. It's all changed now, I don't even know what to feel anymore."

"It must be quite overwhelming, I understand. It'll be something new when you turn 18. It's the Royal bond that's developing within you. It's the bond all Royals share."

"The bond?" I giggled. "That's what you call it?"

He raised his eyebrow.

"In my world, that bond is called sex."

For the first time tonight I saw him making an expression that wasn't all mad or sad. He just smiled. "Yeah, well. It's much more than that. It's like the family you've never had. They trust you with everything."

"You, maybe. But they don't trust me. I even had to go to court."

"We both know that has its reason."

I pulled myself closer to Nick.

"If you all know so well what's going on here, then why don't you tell me instead of making me tell you?"

The door opened and a tall man was standing there. He looked very attractive. Short brown hair matched his pure brown eyes. "Since you're too scared to visit me, I'll just come to you myself."  He said as he sat down at the end of the bed. "I'm Daniel, one of us Royals. I'm here to give you a chance to help you out."

I sat up straight.

"Just to fairly inform you, if you don't cooperate with me willingly, I will use compulsion."

I looked him straight in the eye. "That seems like the perfect start of our forever during familybond. What is it you want to know so badly?"

"Isabelle. I know you've been talking to her."

"That's not the case."

"Then what is it?"

I didn't answer him until my head suddenly started hurting very badly. "Do I need to repeat myself?"

I shook my head. "Good girl, now tell me what the goddamn case is."

"She's in my head. That's all, I swear."

"I can easily tell when you're lying to me."

With that said, the pain got immensely. "S-she's telling me things. Things I can't completely understand."

Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I stuttered. His expression softened immediately and with his hand he swiped my tears away. "You can tell us. What is it you don't understand?"

I shrugged. These two might have a gentle side but that's only because they want something from me. I might not be a few hundreds years old, that doesn't mean I'm stupid.

"You don't have to say anything if you don't want to." As he said that he took my hand. Before I noticed what was going on, I could feel him entering my mind.

I could see all the visits from Isabelle. All my different feelings I've been having these last few weeks. All the spells that have been in my mind. Even the doubts about deciding to run away from all of this before this night would happen. I knew I wasn't the only one who could see this, he could too.

"How long has this been going on?" His voice sounded angry, and before I could say something, Demi appeared in the doorway.

I tried to avoid any eye contact with any of them. "I'm too unprepared for any of this. You might be cool old vampires and wolves and witches, that doesn't mean I have to be."

"You'll be this night, 5.52 AM." Daniel said.

"It doesn't have to be."

"There's only one way of preventing that to happen, and that is to die right now." Demi said.

"That doesn't help either, I'll just come back to life. It happened twice already." I told them.

They were all too taken back by that they didn't even bother how I'd found out about it.

"Dying is not what I meant." I sighed. "I can play with the time."

"That's not gonna happen." They all three said.

"That's because you all know I'll be the most powerful one, eventually."

"And until that moment, I'll be just here right by your side and let you know that's not the case", Daniel whispered to me.

His lips were close to mine as I just stared into his eyes. "With Isabelle by my side, all of your powers won't even come close to mine and then I'll take you down, one by one. That's why you're all so afraid of me."

He held my body down, pushed me into the bed, with just one hand. "Oh sweetheart, hasn't Demi taught you yet?" He grinned as he whispered in my ear,  "No one can use any of their dark powers without _my_ approval. So before you plan on doing that, I can't wait to hear how you'll figure that out."

"Your approval? You don't seriously think I'll believe that, do you?"

"Let me make this clear for you. Isabelle may have given you her powers but she gave me the strings to pull." I cringed. "Your mother gave me all her trust. Now it's your turn to earn mine."

Just when I tried to walk away, I felt pain all over my body, like something was burning inside of me.

"What.."

"It's 4 o'clock, it's starting", Demi said.

"Why does it hurt so bad?"

"Your human body will have to change into a vampire, a werewolf and will gain witch powers. You'll die three times because of the pain and there's no way to stop it." I reached for my stomach that was hurting the most.

"Of course we could help you out by taking away the pain with one simple spell I happen to know, but since you seem to be able to do everything on your own, I'm not offering", Daniel squatted down and made eye contact.

"I'll just stay here and enjoy this very moment, you'll just have to accept that, or not, not really up to you anyway."

I couldn't bear looking him in the eye but my body was too painful to move. "Permission or not, you know damn well I'll be stronger than you. So you can just go now and accept that."
I screamed as I felt my bones starting to crack. He stroked my long hair behind my ear as he inspected me carefully, "Annoying Royal siblings? Painful transitions? Welcome to adulthood, darling. It'll be a downhill from here."
