The days passed in a blur of studies and classes. Ryu was all but glued to Nagisa's side, not that the vampire didn't mind it. Yet, he felt like it had been ages since it was just him and Collin, or even him and Coldar. He missed his alone time with his friends. Today, three weeks into the new term, they were headed to combat training.
"It's been forever since we did something just us." Nagisa told Collin. Ryu was slightly behind them he had received a phone call as they walked.
"Yeah, you want to ditch the boyfriends tonight? Go for a run?" he asked.
"Yeah, but we should plan a double date for Saturday to make up for it." Nagisa agreed.
"Is all well?" Collin asked as Ryu returned.
The large dragon had a look on his face between awe and surprise. He lifted his head to take in the two before him.
"I think so. That was dad. He is in town for the night and wants to have dinner with me. I can't remember the last time it was just us." Ryu nearly whispered the last line.
Nagisa placed a hand on his wrist. "That's great! I hope you have a wonderful time." He smiled at his boyfriend.
"Uh, but what about you? I mean..." Ryu was cut off when Collin dropped his arm to the smaller teen's shoulders.
"My dear sweet elder cousin and I can manage one night together." He stated in a fake accent.
Nagisa laughed elbowing Collin in the side. He turned to look up at Ryu. "I'll be fine. You deserve this." He insisted.
"Thank you." Ryu bent to kiss him lightly just as they reached the combat building
Walking inside, it was as if the room was split up. Articus was in the grade above them, so not in their combat class. However Seamus was. The aristocrat had his minions hovering alongside one section of the room. He was already changed for class.
Nagisa flicked his gaze around the room, something he did often when entering an enclosed space. Seamus' eyes met his. There was an odd look within them. Nagisa gave him a curt nod. He wasn't sure why. His shock compounded when Seamus returned it ever so slightly.
"What's up?" Coldar growled. The werewolf had skipped their previous class to assist Marcus with training the combat class before theirs. Apparently he was so good with weapons, he beat the second year's abilities.
"Not sure." Nagisa hissed.
He turned to go get changed. The thing was, Seamus was good with any weapon placed in his hands. He wasn't better than Coldar, but he had his skills. He defiantly would beat Nagisa if it came down to a fair fight with weapons only.
Mori dropped from the rafters as Nagisa came back to the rink. The younger vampire eyed his sibling. Mori strolled toward him. There was a shout. The half dragon spun around, his brother ducked under his arm.
As Mori faced the threat, Nagisa was already blocking the weapon coming for the dragons unprotected back. He crossed his arms taking the blow upon his forearms. Mori hissed out spinning, his foot connected with the others side. It was strong enough to knock him away from Nagisa.
The two brothers stood side by side facing a glaring Articus. "What are you doing in this class?" Marcus thundered from the rink where he had been checking in the student.
"More like, why are you attacking my sibling?" Nagisa growled.
"He isn't a vampire. That filthy little..." His voice was cut short as a hand curled around his throat.
The growl of the dragon was far louder than the soft squeak Articus let out as he was lifted off his feet. Ryu shoved his face into the aristocrats.
"You like getting chocked out, don't you?" he growled.
