SHIFT 2 - Purgatory

Tuscany

The day to head to Tuscany had finally arrived. Nagisa woke early. He walked down to the dinning room, thinking he would be the first one up. Instead, two others sat at the table. He stepped inside the darkened room.

"Good morning." Issac greeted him.

"Hey?" Nagisa muttered. He glanced toward where his mother sat.

She waved around a coffee mug she was gulping from. Nagisa tried not to smile. Krystal had never been a morning person. He hugged her as he walked by. Issac held out a cup to Nagisa. The steam rolled off of the dark liquid.

"I was going to make breakfast for everyone." Nagisa said as he took the cup.

"We don't have time." Krystal was pouring another cup already. Her blonde hair pulled back in a tight bun.

"What? It's not even six! We don't have to be..." Nagisa began.

"She has requested us!" Reginald growled as he walked into the room carrying his sleeping grandson.

Marcus arrived behind him holding a slumbering Moon moon. He glanced toward Nagisa with half pleading look on his face. Naisa sat his cup down, holding his arms out. The small girl was placed in them. She curled against his chest as he settled her head on his shoulder. She didn't even wake up as she snuggled down to him. He picked up his cup behind her back.

Collin led a groggy Coldar into the room. Fenn was pulling Xavier behind him as Ozzie looked disgruntled for not being in bed still. Wyvern smiled cheerily at Nagisa as he ushered Ryu in with Mori right behind him. Faraday had Hari in tow while Cami was still fussing over Carter and Race.

Before anyone else could say a word, the front hall doors opened. Benji and Charmella were blown in by a strong wind. Misty turned to face everyone. She gave a curt nod to Reginald as she moved to stand close to Krystal.

"Where is..." Marcus began.

"Behind you!" Nagisa rolled his eyes as Lucifer stepped out. He moved to sit next to the young teen.

"Everyone's here. So this is what needs to be done. We have to walk to the hill cottage." Reginald was saying.

"There is a storm brewing out there. We won't be getting far in near hurricane winds!" Misty shook her head.

"Maybe we could have Leon dig us a tunnel?" Xavier yawned.

"Where is lover boy?" Carter turned to glare at his twin.

"Awe, you missing me?" Leon dropped down from the window ledge. He winked at Carter as he moved to Cami's side.

"We don't need the tunnel dug." Nagisa stated.

"There is already one waiting for us." Lucifer added.

"Are there any more witches coming?" Reginald eyed Krystal.

"Akara isn't here." Nagisa pointed out.

"She was going to meet us at the gate." Krystal offered.

"I'll go..." Mori and Ryu began at the same time.

"You don't need to fight these head winds." Mori insisted.

"Let Mori go. He knows these lands best." Wyvern laid a hand on his younger brother's arm. Ryu nodded as he sank to the seat on the opposite side of Nagisa.

"We'll meet you at the shack." Mori told his father.

He went out the door while Benji and Griffin forced the doors closed once more. The wind had stirred up the tapestries along the wall. Reginald glared at them as they settled back down. Reginald glanced around at everyone. Lucifer stood up. Marcus finished his coffee, taking his daughter back. Krystal nestled his son in her arms as everyone got ready.
