Nagisa opened one eye. He was lying on his back, one hand resting on his chest. The room he was in was quiet. As he became more aware, he heard a soft even intake of breath. It was released in the same soft way. It didn't sound right. He turned his head.

Collin was curled up in a chair next to the bed beside Nagisa. One hand was resting next to Nags' free hand, as if Collin had been holding it. The rest of him was lying on top of the white blanket that covered a mound in the other bed. Race was sitting in the window. He turned his head to meet Nagisa's eyes.

"Why hasn't he transformed?" Nagisa whispered.

"They don't know." Race answered.

Nagisa sat up. He looked over the half wolf man in the bed. "Where are your parents?" He asked, anxiety cursing through him at the possible answer.

"After what happened to me, you think mom could deal with this?" He waved a hand at Coldar's body.

"You didn't even tell her." Nagisa guessed as he stood up. "What about your dad?" He moved the short distance from his bed to Coldar's.

"I sent him out to stay with mom. He is beside himself. Wanting to be here, knowing we can't leave mom alone." Race ran a wary hand over his face.

"When did he get hurt? I mean, I know Marcus... but that doesn't make sense." Nagisa looked down at the werewolf.

"What does it?" His mother's voice came from behind him. Nagisa didn't turn.

"I should have died out there last night. That monster maid, she killed me." Nagisa stated, his eyes watching the rise and fall of the wolf's chest.

"She severed my arm. I was bleeding out. But she kicked me. The internal injuries I sustained from that..." He shook his head.

"She killed me that much I know. I just hadn't died yet. But then...Coldar..." Nagisa reached out to touch the wolf.

His fur was chilly to the touch. His skin was an ashen grey. He wasn't doing well. Marcus and gotten him here alive, but Coldar wasn't living, not yet.

"He came to me." Nagisa insisted.

"He hasn't left this bed. Ryu tried putting you in your room, but Collin went crazy! He took you away from Ryu. Man, I seriously thought they were going to rip you in half." Race was standing, leaning against the window, sil.

"He brought you in here." Here, he gestured toward the sleeping vampire.

"I guess he couldn't stand to not have you close by. Ryu just left, like three seconds before you woke. He went to get food for everyone." Race went on.

Nagisa nodded. "I know he wasn't there physically, but Coldar is the reason I'm alive." Nagisa insisted.

He spent the next few minutes telling them what happened out on the field of battle. How it was Coldar and Lucifer's scathe that gave him back his life. Once he mentioned it, Nagisa looked around for it.

"Where is it?" He asked.

"Don't know." Race shrugged. "Marcus didn't bring it in with Coldar." He stated.

"No, I had it. I mean, after he gave it to me. What..." He stopped talking when a large form backed through the door.

There, tied to Ryu's back, were Nagisa's weapons. Also, the scathe hung there, glowing slightly in the dimmer room. Nagisa leapt over the bed. His hand shot out as he pulled the wepaons from their places. He dropped a kiss to Ryu's check before darting away.

"Silly little wolf. You need this." Nagisa grinned.

He placed the scathe across Coldar's chest. One hand fluttered slightly. The finger stretching for the handle. Nagisa drew the hand up. He curled the thickened fingers around the wepaon. Suddenly, a light flashed up. Nagisa was tossed backward. Ryu caught him and Race. The older werewolf had been thrown back as well. Collin lifted his head. He alone managed to remain at the wolf's side.
