SHIFT 2 - Purgatory

Preparing

Nagisa sat before his sewing machine. He wasn't looking at the fabric he had just finished. All of this fighting had really taken a hit on his business. He sighed. He just couldn't get the idea out of his head. When he was last tested... he had been fourteen. It was the last time he came here.

He looked up at the exposed beams. He needed to know all of his limits, not just his fighting ones. The lightening, it was a part of him. His blood magic... well there were a few other things he could do with it. There was a rustling off to his left. A stack of boxes suddenly appeared, sat down, then revealed the head of his boyfriend over them.

"You done brooding?" Ryu asked. He had assisted, along with Cami, in boxing up some orders for Nagisa.

"No." Nagisa muttered.

"Just go talk to him." Cami offered.

"Who?" Ryu blinked at her.

"Whoever he is thinking about." Cami said it casually, but the reaction from Ryu, nearly toppled all of Nagisa's work.

"You're thinking about another guy?" Ryu bellered.

"Huh? No!" Nagisa was on his feet.

Ryu stood before him fists clenched. The pain was deep in his dark eyes. His breathing was hard, fast. Nagisa knew he needed to calm down, or something was going to happen, which wouldn't be good.

"I was thinking about testing my limits again!" He cried.

"Why would you say something like that?" Nagisa yelled at Cami.

She blushed.."I'm sorry, I didn't think! I assumed you were debating between Marcus and Mori or maybe Lucifer. Those were the guys I was thinking, you were thinking about." She babbled.

"I'm not used to you having a boyfriend!" She cried before rushing from the room, in tears.

Everyone's emotions were heightened lately. Ryu was still breathing to fast. Nagisa moved a bit closer to him.

"Ryu, you need to calm down. There will never be another guy for me." He insisted.

"Vampire's mate for life." He pointed out.

"Yeah, but your half human." Ryu snarled.

Nagisa whipped the purple fabric he held in his hands down. "Look, if you want to insult me, I get it, but I wasn't the one that said I was thinking about a guy!" He yelled.

Spinning around, Nagisa stormed from the room. What he didn't notice was that his show of anger, had calmed Ryu.

"Wait, what did I say to piss you off?" Ryu moved toward the door.

"You called him human." A voice spoke behind him.

Ryu looked back. His least favorite Romanari stood there. Carter with his silver blond hair, looked stylish in a long flowing older fashion coat. The rippled collar that ran down his chest of the shirt he wore, gave him a blast form the past vibe. His smug expression made Ryu want to punch him. Not that much was needed for Ryu to feel that way around him.

"Well, he is part human!" Ryu snarled.

"No, he is part witch." Carter growled.

"Witches are human!" Ryu snarled back.

Carter was in his face a second later. Using his vampire strength, he managed to back the large dragon up against the wall.

"DON'T YOU DARE EVER SAY THAT TO MY BROTHER!" He snarled, foam forming on his lips.

"Mom is his best friend, aside from Collin and Coldar. Don't you get it?" Carter backed off.

"Nagisa is going to see her die. Vampire's live longer lives. He will be the one to notice. He will be the one to pronounce her. How do you think that fucks with his head!" Carter growled. He marched out of the room, leaving the dragon standing stunned in the center of it.
