The blood moon sorie was a dance, in appearance only. The vampires began to arrive just after eleven. Reginald stood to one side of the gates that led into the courtyard sectioned off for the event. The witch hunter was watching from the other side. Nagisa twirled a red strand of hair. He smirked.
He liked the new look. It gave him an edgier vibe. Tonight he would need it. This was only his second walk into the dance. It was his first to be actually invited by the school. Xavier snuck him in last year, that had been something! Especially when Reginald found out. Nagisa was sure his half siren brother couldn't sit right for a week.
Keeping his face hidden from his father, Nagisa slipped in behind another group of vampires. He felt a hand tug his sleeve. Looking over he saw Collin at his side. The taller boy smiled down at him.
"I'm guessing he noticed." He said curling a strand of deep rich black hair around one finger.
Nagisa batted his hand away with a chuckle. "Yeah, said it was hard to kiss me looking like Carter!"
The teens were laughing as they drew up to the door. The witch hunter spun to catch Nagisa in the glow of his artificial eye. Many have said he paid a witch to enchant it, then killed her so she couldn't tell anyone else the secret of it. Nagisa flashed bis fangs.
The man drew his head back, but didn't take his eyes from the small teen. To complete his dark dastardly look, Nagisa wore a corseted black dress, red lace leggings with a long gold chain hanging around his neck. His platform boots added about four inches to his height. They also had a few secrets buried inside them.
Reginald followed where the hunter was looking. He took in his youngest child. "Was all of that for tonight?" he asked fighting to keep the smirk from showing.
"Nope, but why not live it up." Nagisa said.
"Keep your wits about you, tonight. I know this is your first time..." His father's voice faded but the hard look in his eye struck Nagisa. The teen nodded his understanding.
The duo stepped through the doors. Instantly it was as if they were in another realm. The glowing blood red moon hung almost directly above them. The blood would flow freely once it reached its pinnacle. The eerie red black of the moon and the night was reflected in everything they saw, aside from the people.
There were drapes cutting off sections of the courtyard, Nagisa guessed that someone was protecting each entrance or exit so no unauthorized personnel could come in. The DJ booth was covered in red and black crepe paper. He was wearing a checkered suit that shared the color scheme. Each table had either a red or black oth over it.
"Why does it look like a giant checkers set?" Collin asked.
Nagsia snorted at this, but then couldn't unsee it. He elbowed his cousin. The feeders were in glowing white robes. They sat at golden tables near the front of the room. Like royalty they had their own space and people to wait on them. Tonight was all about them after all. The hours leading up to this event had been a feast for any who offered their blood to be suckled tonight.
The staff around the room wore gold robes. This was so that they could be easily found if needed. Nagis scaned the familiar faces of his mother's coven. His eyes darted from one to another until he found the main pair. He took his cousin's arm.
Together they made their way up to their parents. There was twinkling fairy lights all around. Some were set in vases of flowers or strung together to hang over head. It made the whole atmosphere surreal. Reaching the edge of the stage, Nagisa smiled up at his mother, who stood on the corner of the raised stage the feeders were on. She grinned back. Reaching out she touched the soft red hair on the left side of her son's head.
