They flew through the night. The dark castle coming ever closer. A sadness fell heavy on the boy's chest. He had made a vow. He had promised the old man it would be his hand to end that wretched life. The problem was, it wasn't his destiny to do so. Even as he watched the castle, the dark dragon veered away from it.
There in the darkness, along the nearly invisible path they followed, ran two figures. One with a sword in their hand. The other rushing forward as if he feared nothing that was to come his way. Reginald and his eldest son, fighting together. Nagisa felt the grip of this moment. He brushed it aside, as a roar raked the heavens.
He turned his head from those dark distant hills. His eyes widening as he saw the red dragon in his path. Upon his back stood a cloaked figure. The thing's robes bellowed about him.
"I can see him, but, I can't sense him." Ziren gasped.
"That's because he is still hiding. Don't worry, I'll find him." Nagisa promised.
"The only way to save the beast is to end his life." The cloaked figure cried out.
"I have already stolen his will. He is mine to control. He will stop at nothing but death for you all." The man cried.
"So be it." Mori answered.
This appeared to not be what the man had expected. He fell silent for a moment.
"What are you?" The sneer in that voice.
"Rude." Nagisa stated. He stood up on the black dragon's back.
"That is my sibling. That is my brother..." He pointed the sword to each of them in turn. Then he pointed it at the red dragon.
"... and that is my mate. You will die tonight." Nagisa confirmed.
The laugh was more like cracking thunder. It started low, but rose in volume to over power even the slightest sound of battle.
"Your witch came by to warn me of the same, yet her time upon this earth draws ever near. She will fall once I arise." He called.
"Vasquez, you're delouisnal." Nagisa answered.
"You see, this night I spent nearly a century in hell preparing for. You think, but don't know how to act." Nagisa insisted.
"Oh, and you are so very, very wrong. If you think you have broken the will of my dragon."
With that Nagisa jumped from the back of the black dragon. No one moved to save him. In fact he had ordered them not to save him. He had promised that Ryu would do it. He would break the spell for him. Nagisa's body plummeted toward the rocky waters below. He hadn't even checked to see what death was in store.
The large red dragon's eye followed his decent. The cloaked figure on his back laughed as the dragon did absolutely nothing to save the child. His head snapped back up when the clocked figure began to talk again.
"Look at that. You took yourself out. How utterly foolish. The pride of youth!" He snickered.
Nagisa's arms spread out. His legs separated slowling his decent minutely. He looked back above him. No one moved. Mori looked like he was about to do so, but Nagisa shook his head. He knew, he just knew...
"Kill them all." The man spoke so gently to the dragon.
He stomped his foot down hard on the scalled back. There was a cry if pain as the red, mindless beasts shot forward. Jaws opening to devour the shadow man. Lucifer rolled sideways. Mori swung in to stab a sword into the open jaws of the dragon. It shattered as the dragon closed his mouth.
"That was one of dad's best..." Coldar muttered.
"No it wasn't. That was one Mori had for years..." Collin stated.
