After Satine has finally woken up later in the day, she puts on some clothes and makes her way to the common room. She steps through the door, while parting her hair to the side and heads towards where Peter sits on the couch. She lifts his arm as she sits on her one folded leg and lays it over her shoulders to lean comfortably into his side.
"Goodmorning, Love." He whispers, while pressing a kiss to the side of her head and she closes her eyes.
"Hi." She leans back in to keep his lips against her hair as he rubs her shoulder.
"We doing alright?" He mumbles with slightly furrowed brows.
"We're okay." She states softly.
"Good." His hugs her a bit closer and she moves lower to slump across his chest.
She slides her hand across his front to hold him close as he moves her hair out of her face. Her eyes gaze over the room until they land on a mother and her daughter standing clueless in the kitchen.
Morgan reaches up for her, while leaning against the cabinet, gripping the counter above her head. Pepper picks her up to sit her directly beside her as she pulls grapes off of their stems. Morgan sweetly pleads for a bite and Pepper tosses one into her mouth, gaining a deep giggle that makes her smile instantly as Tony ventures over to place a single kiss on the ladies cheeks.
Satine grins slightly at the sight of the beautiful and happy family. Though, she can't help but frown soon after. No matter how happy the sight of them makes her feel, it can be easily overturned by the fact that she knows that isn't possible. Not for her, at least. She'll never be able to have a family the way these people do. And, every time it crosses her mind, it breaks her heart even more.
She breathes deeply for a moment, lingering in Peter's cologne for only a second longer. She hugs him slightly tighter, delaying her release until she realizes that she has to let him go.
She stands to exit the room, leaving him there to watch her as she goes, making her way down the stairs. He hesitates while looking around for curious and nosey eyes before he jumps up to follow along.
He reaches her only inches away from her being able to close the bedroom door. She turns around as he slowly opens it to find her and finish doing as she was before.
"Baby, what's going on?" He asks softly with furrowed brows and she turns away, while crossing her arms. "Satine, talk to me, Angel." He gently places his hands on her cheeks to pull her back to him.
She remains timidly silent and he sighs and takes her hand to pull her with as he sits on the couch. He gently brings her down in front of him as he lays a leg out in front of him, leaving her room to sit comfortably between his legs.
"I don't know if I did something wrong, if someone else did, or whatever else could be going on, but I want you to tell me everything." He slowly wraps his arms around her neck and waist and she holds the first forearm. "Why're you so quiet and upset?" He asks and she takes a deep breath, while sucking in her cheeks.
"I..." She breathes hesitantly, while licking her lips with tears in her eyes. "I just feel alone." She gulps and his brows furrow.
"In what way?"
"I..." She grips her arm. "I want a baby." She nearly whispers and his whole body relaxes in realization of the situation. "I want a baby, like any normal family can have, but I can't." She shrugs weakily, tear slowly flowing down her cheek. "I just ... I wish I could have a child." She cries softly and his brows wrinkle in sorrow. "I want to give you a child one day, but I can't. I can't give you anything." She sobs and covers her face and he sits up a bit. "I'm sorry."
"No, no, now, wait." He shakes his head, speaking a gentle tone. "Satine, no, come on. Don't do this to yourself. Don't blame yourself, this is not your fault." He oushes his arm under her knees to turn her, pulling her down to his chest. "Nobody will ever be able to take away your ability to have a child, not even Dreykov." He states surely and she throws her arms down with a painful pout.
"But he did, and he even left a scar." She motions. "The one and only time I have ever gotten a scar and it was wasted on him."
"You can still have the family you want." He whispers with his cheek against her hair. "Even if they're not really our child, you'll get the life you deserve and that includes the family you've wanted for as long as I have known you."
"How do you know that'll really happen?" She doubts, captivated by her fear and devistation.
"Because I'll make it happen." He rubs up and down her arm. "I'll scour the world for you, until I find the right fit, no matter what. I'll make it happen."
Peter pauses momentarily before he continues again as she just stares ahead, thumb on her trembling lip.
"What do you want?" He asks. "Boy or girl?"
"I want a girl." She breathes as he places his hand on the side of her head. "I want to name her Irina, or Anastasia." She cries, while covering her mouth as his eyes water. "And, I don't wanna ever let her go. Never, ever." She sobs softly, while shaking her head and hiding herself behind the protection of her palms.
Peter instantly scoops her up tightly into his hold. He may not be sat the most comfortably that he could be, but none of that matters even half as must as the woman crying in his arms. Crying for the lift she lost, but will never have an oppurtunity to gain, nor has she ever.
Still, the outcome stays the same. What she says is true, she'll never have a normal family, like everybody else. But he's not arong either. And, he's as determined as he can be to prove to her that, one day, she will get the life that was planned for her, not the one she was forced into.
